  • All my documents are accepted as shown, but I had a message to upload a financial document, which I did, can anyone update, how much time it takes at NVC to accept the new uploaded document, and clear the documents acceptance.

Congratulations on sailing through stormy waters of adverse extended time due to additional medical testing and finally reaching the shore successfully. In other words, congrats for successful interview after sputum testing. Now do not be anxious about returning of stamped passport. If the visa officer has said it will come, it will come.
Further if you really wish to offer gratitude, offer it to sapnaanagol because she being herself a sputum victim, has found out a great deal of information and shared it in the interest of needy members. Hope she also sails safely to the shore on 30th this month. All the best sapnaanagol.
        Thank you GeoMac!!

Also you know if we can get the VAC and interview done at the Delhi embassy instead of mumbai, even though on the NVC website it shows case transfered to mumbai?
          Dear abhishekhawat,
Thanks for your kind words. Biometrics can be done anywhere of the VAC centres across India. However the interview is exclusively at Mumbai. In no way this can be changed, as the things stand now. You may think of VAC also at Mumbai.
          Best wishes.

            Dear vapIR5,
Are you already Documentarily qualified ?. If yes the do not worry. Other wise it can take anywhere from 2 to 3 months. I recall that NVC displays some processing times on such issues. Though not sure. In our case we had uploaded some documents in January and we were documentarily qualified on March 23, 2021.
            Best wishes

So if you upload additional documents after getting documentarily qualified, it will not change your DQ date?

                Dear Shanaya,
This is exactly I wrote to vapIR5. Once you are documentarily qualified then adding more documents does not change the status of your case. Also, most likely, the NVC may not acknowledge the uploading of the documents. The fresh documents, will be most likely seen by the Consulate officers in Mumbai.
                Best wishes.

                • Hello, pinging with my question again. My parent's petition is DQ but since the start of the application process, they have changed residences/addresses. Does anyone know the procedure to change the residential address of my parents at the NVC while we are waiting for the interview?

The soft copy of the duly signed form will be sent to the concerned authorities and then a video call (on what’s app, Google meet, messenger etc) will be made. Subsequently the officer will verify the signature and submit the form. I have already spoken with the people responsible for the verification. I hope that this will work out. From the subsequent years I plan to use Aadhar based authentication, for this we will perhaps need a finger print reader and the retina reader.
                    Best wishes
From talks with ICICI bank branch in India, my Mom got the impression that banks (atleast in Delhi) are shying away from manual Life Certificate attestations (located in India or not). We also do not have a nearby (drive-able) Indian Embassy to prove our physical presence. Thus, (back in 2020) we took the electronic route to getting the Jeevan Aadhaar certificate for my Mom (when she was still in US). There are two main pre-requisites to setting up a fingerprinting station in your home:
                    1. Have a working Indian cellphone with (free) incoming SMS service. This is the same phone linked to your Aadhaar card AND
                    2. Buy a Biometric reader: We bought a fingerprint reader MFS100 (shipped by eBay seller from India). There are better devices available (with retina scan), at extra cost
Details on the setup are provided at.
I understand that this process might not be for everyone, since there is an amount of driver setup (and a time zone change) that is required. But if you have someone with computer familiarity to help you, it’s absolutely do-able. My mom and I were in Florida when we completed the process successfully (i.e. no visit to India is required).

Thank you for your response. do you need to download any app before coming to US? My father uses prepaid airtel number, i am planning to get international roaming service in his phone. Hopefully he will get OTP.

I need to see how i can set up with computer. did you follow any particular steps to get the job done? Please share the steps if you have it handy, Many thanks!

                      • Does anyone know good family based immigration lawyer? In my case I got 221g in consulate interview because birth certificate of my son doesn't have his name. It has only my and my late wife's name. Letter provided to me after consulate interview says following

Your application has been refused under Section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act because it is incomplete. Further consideration will be given to your application upon submission of the materials below!
We require additional proof of relationship between you and the petitioner. Please provide the following:
                        For Family-based petition
Copy of your family's ration card.
                        Copy of Aadhar Card Photo
copy of son's School Leaving Certificate and other school records
You may submit the above documents WITHOUT an appointment at any one of the 11 document drop-off locations.

My son doesn't have Aadhar card. Not sure if are they want my son's Aadhar.

Respected Members and Senior Members, appreciate your suggestion. Also if anyone know good lawyer would be helpful.

I try to reach NVC but response time is 2 months. So I am not sure should I reach out to NVC on status. Because I heard couple of 14 oct 2021 DQ got IL.
The IL is emailed to the Petitioner, Applicant and your Lawyer. Kindly download and make some copies and use them for your VAC, Medical and final interview at the Consulate in Mumbai.
                          Best of luck.

Do not panic with 221g letter. What you need to do is, provide your son's school leaving certificate and any other document which shows his name with your name indicating the father son relation. You can make an affidavit with details about your son. Also his marriage certificate, wedding cards, any other document which shows father son relations. Please do not submit any unreal documents.
I am not an expert in these matters so use your descrition and act.

                              Dear Vjrnn2022,
Changing address is not such an easy proposition. The residential address in India is not very important to the NVC. The communication will be through e-mail only. In case you decide to change your address, then first you will need to have new passports with the current address. I would say that you do not worry about this. When they get the IL and fill up the online forms then they have to provide address for getting the stamped passports and the address for the delivery of the SSN and Green Card. Best wishes. That is my take. Maybe our senior friend GEOMAC can add something.

                              • Dear all,
we received the SSN yesterday in Mail. We had landed on August 17 and in eight days the SSN have been delivered. Now waiting for the Green Card.
GeoMac what is the update on your status.
Surprisingly no new ILs for one month. All extrapolations have gone haywire.
Best wishes to all in waiting.
