    Dear Shanaya,
My DQ date is in Jan 2022 and my friend in Nov 2021; we are still waiting for our IL. My other friend DQ on 15 Oct 2021 has got his IL. Seeing this trend in IR5 visa category, I have serious doubts about people of Apr 2022 etc getting IL is genuine or not. Just a word of caution on this account since I am tracking the progress for the past 1 year.

In my opinion it would also depend on how you filed your case. May be online filed cases are processed faster than paper filings. If everyone can post how they filed it would explain.

My mother had her exam done at Apollo in Gandhinagar and we where also given 2 papers. I might give the cd/xray at the interview but not sure about that. I do know that they send the offical medical report directly to the consulate.
        Dear Abhishekhawat,
this is all that you will need for the interview. The entire report, including x-ray is uploaded by the medical centre and is available to the consulate. Best wishes for the Interview.

          Dear saba22,
if you have time them you should first get a new passport as suggested by GeoMac and subsequently a new PCC. PCC is generally associated with the passport as well as the current address.
          Best wishes

            • My dad was told to go through sputum test process on Tuesday and he has completed 3 consecutive day samples and he was told to comeback after 2 months. Hospital told him that his interview will be automatically canceled and consulate will send him an email communication for new date for the interview. Till date we have not received any communication from consulate. What should we do in this situation? Shall we still go for biometric which is schedule for 6th Sept and Interview is scheduled on 7th Sept?

              Thanks in advance!

If the address in US is to be changed, there is a form AR11 on USCIS website >home>forms.
Read the instructions carefully and do accordingly. Changing address is important for receiving SS Card and Green Card which happens only after you enter USA. And the address on these vital documents is seen and used everywhere as your legal address. What AlienKanpur has advised about Indian address, I too am of the same opinion. At the time of Biometrics at VAC, you need to declare how you want your documents back. You can decide what you want. If you decide to receive at your home by Courrier then you will need to confirm or change your Indian address.
Thanks, GeoMac, I do not remember if i have created any USCIC account when i started this process, it was back in Dec 2018.
I just create two new accounts for my parents and clicked the "Change of Address" section. In that process few things needed
                      1) "Receipt number" i got that receipt number way back in 2019 with Form I797 "Notice of Action"
Question: is this the receipt number they are asking? This receipt the only receipt number i think i have received vis post. Please let me know if this is the correct.

                      2) Also, they asked, "A number" , i got that number from the interview letter via email back in May 2022
I hope this A number is the only A number and will never change. Please correct me if i am wrong.

                      3) while filling up the "change of Adress" one question was " I am in US as:" i Choose as a Green card holder. Here is where i got confused, My parents are yet to come to US in few weeks, and they will get their GC eventually. So i choose as a green card holder because the other two options are as a Visitor or as a student. Is this, okay?

                      • My parents have DQ date as Sept 27,2021, but they haven't yet received the IL. Seems people with DQ date in Oct 2021 received IL. Is there any use in contacting NVC? Anyone have an insight on what to do? I submitted their application via mail and not online. Is that the reason?

                          Dear Sapnaanagol,
That’s a great news. Heartiest Congratulations. It must be a great relief to you and your entire family. You went through a lot of hassles. You now have a very little time to enter USA. Wait for the passport to arrive and then book your tickets. Perhaps you have to enter USA sometime in October. God bless you all. Best wishes.

                          • Hello, I wanted to ask how long does the interview appointment at the consulate takes? My mother's interview is scheduled at 9 AM and our return flight from mumbai is at 2:15 PM. We are staying at Trident. I am wondering if I need to get a new flight because it will be too tight to make it back to the airport or are we ok?

                              Dear maneeshsah,
If the interview is at 9.00 she can report around 8.15am. She is likely to be taken in immediately and under normal circumstances she should be out by 10.30am. I distinctly remember, our interview was at 8.30. We reached the consulate at 8.00 am ( trident will provide a complimentary cab for pick up and drop for the consulate). We were ushered in immediately. After security check we were at the window a little before 8.30. We were out by 9.20 am. Went back to Trident for the second round of the breakfast. Checked out at 11.10am and we were at the airport by around noon time. Our flight was at 4.30pm. I feel that 2.15 flight could be a little tight. Anything after 3.00pm will be a very safe bet. Best wishes for the interview and wishing a successful adjudication.

                              • For an IR5 parent who is a widow/widower, is it sufficient to upload only the death certificate of the deceased spouse? Or, is it recommended to also upload supporting documents for marriage (affidavits from relatives if no marriage certificate exists)? Any guidance will be of great help. Thanks

Note: The death certificate of deceased spouse does not mention the name of the living spouse (applicant) but NVC can make the connection from the passport of the applicant.
