Finally today, after having entered USA 69 days ago, the status for my wife’s green card has been updated to card has been mailed. Incidentally, my card was received in exactly 38 days, after entering. Both cards were sent for being produced on September 18. So, all is well that ends well. Best wishes to all in waiting.

Thank you for taking the time out for your response!
GeoMac, you mentioned 12 months after filing DS260, is that 12 months to get to the Mumbai consulate interview stage?
Typical processing times are given at the following link:
This site provides applicants the ability to see an estimate of the time to completion from submission of USCIS forms based on its adjudication location and subtype.
As of now counsellor processing is taking one year after getting DQed. Looking at the present day scenario, we are looking at a time frame of 18 to 24 months. I have a feeling that the best bet would be to get the visitors visa by being careful at the interview time and as well as entering the US. Best wishes.

This you tube video may give hopes to US visa aspirants however, I am not sure whether "visa in 6 months" for all categories is feasible?

I have no idea about how to check the SSN movement. Generally it arrives within two weeks of landing. For the GC one can go the following link:
View case status online using your receipt number, which can be found on notices that you may have received from USCIS. Also, sign up for Case Status Online to: . Receive automatic case status updates by email or text message, . View your case history and upcoming case activities, . Check the status of multiple cases and inquiries that you may have submitted to USCIS
you will need to fill in the receipt number starting with IOE.
Generally e-mail is sent to the beneficiary as soon as there is any change in the status. Best wishes.

it has now become impossible to predict about the movement of the cases. Whole lot of beneficiaries who got DQ during Sept.21 to May 22, are waiting. Whereas several cases of June 22 onward have already got their ILs. Not sure about the accuracy of this info, found on some tracker. The next set of ILs are now almost due. Let us hope that some order will be maintained. In that case, your Dad should be getting the IL soon. Best wishes.

One more question:
My parents applied for B1/B2 visa in 2010 which was denied. They again applied in 2020, but could not go for interview because of COVID. I applied for their immigrant visa in Aug 2021. Their interview is scheduled for next week. Are their any specific questions that they might be asked in the interview?

My parents had their medical today at Med Center, Mohali. They were not given any packets or CD. Seems like they will directly send the reports to the embassy.
Can you please suggest what they have to say in the interview if asked for CD.
At interview, they do not ask for medical reports or CDs. Our medical was at Rele Clinic, Mumbai. We got the medical report from Rele Clinic by mail with advice to print Information Sheet for interview and Vaccination Sheet for point of entry at USA. We carried the print outs but it was not asked at interview or at POE. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

Normally the visa officer asks about visa in past. Did you travel to the US earlier? Did you overstay in the US? Did you travel to other country? Did you overstay in any other country? Was ever an application for visa denied? These questions are already asked in your form DS260. This is not an issue to panic. Couple of good thumb rules - 1. Do not volunteerily give any information and 2. If asked, give true but short answers.

The medical reports are uploaded by the Medical Center directly on the consulate website. The medical center generally gives you an information sheet, which has to be given at the consulate during the interview. It seems from a post by AS45, that you have to print this report. The so called CD contains the chest x-ray and will never be asked for. This is invariably uploaded.
The interview is generally very routine. If you scroll backwards to maybe a month or so ago, you will find all about the questions. Best wishes
