I am not clear if we should register for a biometrics appointment prior to the actual interview date. In the link that was included in the email, it says the fingerprints will be taken during the interview. But if you follow the link for the Mumbai consulate, it says biometrics need to be scheduled by creating a profile. Id on't see any appointments before the interview date. Any help on this is highly appreciated.
Also, does the applicants receive a printed mail to their home address regarding the interview or is the email sent to petitioner is all that you get from NVC?
      Dear anvinjoe
The email is the legal and final notification for interview. Make 3 prints, one for medical one for Biometrics and one for interview. Also DS260 confirmation letter 4 copies. IR5 interviews are in Mumbai only. You can find out which VAC is convenient to you for Biometrics. Keep trying every 3 hours for biometrics appointment.

In your post number 3070 dated 02 Nov 2022, you have clearly stated that your mother has not received her IL. And now in post number 3081 dated on 04 Nov 2022, you state she has her interview on 07/12/2022. Very confusing and illogical.

              • Hello All,

My mom has her interview scheduled in Dec 2022. She has travelled to other countries since I last filed her DS 260 form. Do I need to update the form or contact Mumbai embassy?

                    Dear Nuzi,
Heartiest Congratulations for your mom’s interview. At this stage the system will not allow you to modify the DS 260. Besides , there is no need to worry about this. Generally, during the interview, the officer will ask about all foreign travels and if the stay has not exceeded one year at a given place, then nothing needs to be done.
Best wishes for a successful adjudication.

                    • Heartiest Congratulations to all who got the ILs this month. Finally there is some movement. However, it seems that several people with earlier DQ dates are still waiting. Wishing them good luck for getting the IL. Best wishes to all for a successful adjudication of their petitions.

                      • We are now filing the IR5 visa for my father-in-law who is widowed. We are still in early stages, but I wanted to find out how people give marriage certificate in this scenario? Their marriage was never registered. We can get marriage affidavits from people who attended the marriage, but we are not getting non-availability certificate from Delhi Marriage Registrar office.

Has anyone else faced this situation?

                          Dear tsar2,
I know from a friend of mine who is a widower. He was asked to submit the marriage certificate. Getting a late registration of a marriage certificate is not difficult at all. I did it and even that widower had to do it. We hired a lawyer, whose fee was 5k. He needed the marriage cards, pictures of the marriage and two affidavits. Some fee and a late fee of Rs. 50 per year was paid and the certificate was made. There is no provision for the non availability of marriage certificate. Non availability certificate is needed for the birth certificate of parents. best wishes

Yes, even I would want to know
Tried calling, the line is too busy, the agent to answer is not available
The SNN office is too far away
I had requested for address change at point of entry but I do not know why I have not yet received?
