    Thank you for your update:

NVC website (when I try to login) says as follows:

What does this line mean ?????:
You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete. Please be advised that the processing time varies and that you will be contacted if additional information is needed

My mom has applied for UK PCC and we will submit the PCC letter to HYD VAC (personally)
and also on travel.state.gov (CGI webite).

Any further steps we need to take at this point????

    U.S. Department of State
    IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
    Refused
Immigrant Visa Case Number: 01 BMB
    Case Created: 31-Aug-2018
    Case Last Updated: 27-Dec-2022
A U.S. consular officer has adjudicated and refused your visa application. Please follow any instructions provided by the consular officer. If you were informed by the consular officer that your case was refused for administrative processing, your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. You will receive another adjudication once such processing is complete. Please be advised that the processing time varies and that you will be contacted if additional information is needed. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV or the website for the Embassy or Consulate at which you made your visa application. For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE.GOV.

    Dear Sandhyaa,
just do not worry at all. Get the UK PCC and submit to the VAC. You may upload also, but that will not be necessary. Just wait after submitting the documents. Sometimes it can take upto a month after the submission of documents. Do not panic. It will be granted. But keep in my that the validity of the medical is exactly six months. Best wishes.

      Dear sandhyaa
Our senior most member AlienKanpur has given you the most appropriate advice. Now wait for NO TRACE certificate from UK. It wont take long. They will checking the police dept. of the city where your mom stayed. There will be no trace of any adverse reporting and so they will issue NO TRACE certificate. I have experienced this situation so I know that the document will come very fast.
      With best wishes.

Medical team will inform them after appointment if they cleared test or anyone has to go thru Sputum test.

        Thank you for your response.
Do they notify about sputum test requirement on the day of medical appointment?

At the time of medical appointment if doctor feels that the X-ray is not clear then immediately they will inform your parents to go for Sputum test and will provide information on where they need to go to provide samples. My dad had medical appointment with Rele clinic, Mumbai and he was directed by doctor to visit Lilavati Hospital next 3 days every morning to give sample for sputum test. This is free USCIS service and you do not have to pay anything. Please note that if your parent has to go thru Sputum test then it takes 8 weeks to get result and their interview will be cancelled and will have to be rescheduled.

          • THank you for your responses.

Once I receive the UK PCC(applied few days back) I'll upload on the web site and also submit in HYDerabad counsalte( with VAC appointment).

So you are saying the counsalte will take a month and get back to us.

Thank you all for your support.

              Dear Sandhya,
Good to hear that you have begun the process of the getting the PCC from UK. Once you submit to the VAC the processing in general is quite fast. My elder sister and her husband, went though a similar situation in January last year. They had the interview on January 6. They were asked to submit a fresh PCC. They could submit the same by January 20. They got their passports back on January 28. In another case the processing took three weeks. So all I am saying is that sometimes it may take upto a month. Best wishes

My parents indian PCC states "OK for use of immigration purpose other than Citizenship of US". I know that this application for GC, but is this standard language in this groups experience?

Absolutely fine. This is the standard format. Best wishes for the successful adjudication of the immigration petition.

                  • Hello All,

Here's milestones on the 474 day ordeal for my Parent's IV approval.
                    Milestone Date Interval
                    Application Start Sep 18 2021
                    IV Case Creation Feb 21 2022 156
                    PCC Uploaded March 19 2022 26
My Mom Documentarily Qualified June 2 2022 75
My Dad Documentarily Qualified Aug 11 2022 70
                    Interview Letter Nov 18 2022 99
                    Interview Dec 30 2022 42
                    221g Response and Passport Drop-off Jan 2 2023 3
                    Passport with IV Jan 5 2023 3
                    Total Days (end-end) 474

Both my parents and I were really proactive throughout 474 days and tried to gather documents as quickly as we can. However here are some areas that others could benefit from:
                    1. I don't know if we could have started the Police Clearance Process before, we waited until IV Case Creation and transfer to NVC before we started the PCC. We could have saved time on PCC
                    2. My mom's app was DQed on Jun 2, 2022. For my dad they said I had to resubmit DS-264 because one of the pages was missing from PDF. That's bit carelessness on my part because while scanning I forgot to attach the last page even though it was completely empty. If my dad was DQed at same time as my mom, maybe we could have received the Interview letter early.
                    3. I did not look at these forums until very recently and had booked La Hotel Metro --- it's a 2 start hotel with lots of negatives (no lift - my parents had to climb up to 2nd floor, noisy behind local train station, crampy - not fit for 2 people). I recommend booking Trident or Sofitel.
                    4. Finally when I submitted the docs on Feb 21, 2022 - I did not file my 2021 taxes yet. So I had printed out my IRS Tax Transcript from 2018 until 2021 but did not include it with supporting documentation for my parents Interview. During the Interview they received a 221g asking us to upload 2021 IRS Tax transcript and then use dropbox for Passport drop-off. Important Lesson IRS Tax transcript is a good document to include along with Petioner's Tax return and W2
                    5. I booked my ticket to India assuming that I'll be able to accompany my 75yr old dad for the Interview - in actuality they do not let anybody in other than applicants for the interview.
                    Interview Experience
                    • My parents had a 8.30 am Interview on Friday Dec 30
                    • We went in around 7 am to Bandra Kurla complex
                    • We could see a crowd of 500 on all the 3 opposite sides of the Consulate
                    • At 7.25am they announced for 7 am batch
                    • My parents decided to join the line just to try their luck
                    • They were able to get in
                    • At 8.30am their documents were verified
                    • At 11, it was their time for interview --- their Interviewer was an Asian women. She asked the usual questions:
                      • About Petitioner, Petitioner's family, Petitioner's first time travel to US, Petitioner's Workplace
                      • About Applicants, Travel to US, Last time their travel, length of stay
                    • Interestingly at end of interview, the Interviewer said that she needed an additional document (IRS Transcript) and hence issued 221g. She assured my parents that as soon as they respond to 221g they will get the visa. She also told them they could use a dropbox for 221g and made sure to take missing fingerprints. The 221g letter provided clear instructions on how to upload the document. And specifically called out for no need for an appointment.
                    Dropbox Experience
                    • There was bit of a confusion on location of Dropbox facility in Bengaluru; the location mentioned in USTraveksDocs.com is no longer valid
                    • VFS location in Bengaluru is bit odd -the security people at the entrance is not familiar with 221g they were asking for appointment. Luckily one of the security guys was aware of 221g and let us in.
                    • VFS US Consulate opens at 10am, they accepted our passport and asked us to pay Rs. 650 per passport on (this was Monday Jan 2)
                    • On Thursday Jan 5, my parents received their passports with IV (this was totally unexpected because the timelines suggested by VFS was 3 weeks). Interestingly the BlueDart courier asked my parents to pay another Rs.650 each for expedited passport delivery
Thanks to everyone on this forum that provide so much valuable information on the IV interview process particularly atmakur and AlienKanpur among others.

Please reach out to me if I can be of any further assistance.
                    Ravi

Ravi- Thank You very much for detailing your experience. It is very helpful. Also heartiest congratulation. One question regarding 2021 tax transcripts, I am in similar situation. Should I just print it and give it to my father for his interview or do I need to upload now before the interview? Thanks again.

She assured my parents that as soon as they respond to 221g they will get the visa. She also told them they could use a dropbox for 221g and made sure to take missing fingerprints. The 221g letter provided clear instructions on how to upload the document. And specifically called out for no need for an appointment.

Today I show update on CEAC visa case status the last update shows on Jan 5 2023 and status still shows refused. I am not sure it got refused again or May be status will change in future. I think I show few comment before people had this issue. I hope that is the case.

I also see some other folks happen to be similar scenario but may be not unique like mine. But they respond time is faster than what I see in my parent case. One person mention about submit tax transcript. He or she got respond back in 2 days. I submitted document on 18th Dec 2022. I still didn’t hear back from them on visa case status update today.

Any Idea ? I know I sound impatient but I think now it’s almost 2 years of the case.

                          Dear dqoct52021,
this quite a strange situation. To my knowledge this kind of situation has not been reported in this forum. Did the birth certificate of the petitioner contain both the parents name? As a matter of fact the birth certificate would have been submitted and accepted at the I-130 stage. Anyways, now that they have asked for the documents, you had no choice but to submit the same. More than two weeks have elapsed after the submission of the documents. I am sure you can check the status of the visa on the websites mentioned several times in this forum. Please keep in mind that it is the holiday season and things tend to move rather slowly. Hopefully by the coming Monday or Tuesday you will be able to see some updates. In any case there is no reason to despair. Things will be ok. Keep checking the status. Best wishes for the successful adjudication of the petition.[/QUOTE]

                          • Hello everyone, My mother, 84 years old, has medical appointment on 24th of this month. Shall I schedule her VAC appointment for fingerprinting on 25th or should I rather do it on 27th so she can recover for a day or two from the vaccines? Her interview is on February 15th so I can have her VAC appointment done Feb 12th or 13th as well. Can you please recommend what is best?

                              Dear ADKam99,
Heartiest congratulations for the forthcoming medical and interview. Best wishes for a hassle free medical. In case you are in Mumbai or around then you can do the VAC even a day before. Generally the VAC should be scheduled at least two days prior to the interview. A gap between the medical and VAC appointment is desirable, because the four vaccines could have a side effect. Best wishes.

                                Dear dqoct52021,
Sorry to hear about your plight. If the submitted documents are in order, then the status will change in the next few days. However if the papers were still faulty, you should once again hear from them. Please also check the status of the case on the NVC website. I think that they might have some update about the submitted documents. I am hopeful that in the coming week the VISA status will change from REFUSED to Issued or approved. Best wishes.
