Just a quick question the notification for IL comes in regular mail or the email of the petitioner. Thanks.
The notification of the interview will be sent to the petitioner and the beneficiary (and the attorney if applicable). Only e-mails are being sent for at least last one year. No hard copies have been sent to my knowledge. As of now IL are being sent to people with DQ date in Feb./Mar. In general ILs are behind by almost a year. So a DQ application of June may expect IL in May with the interview in June. This is only a crude approximation. Actual dates maybe different. Best wishes.

if you have not changed job, then the latest pay stubs will be enough. At least two latest pay stubs - November, December and may be part of January. To be on the safe side, send the latest appointment offer with a 2023 date. Best wishes
Thanks for your response.
I have not changed the company but the company was took over by another company in March 2022. So company name is different but address is same. So I was hesitant to send the new offer letter.
Also 2021 W2 has been sent which has old company name. 2022 W2 has not came yet.

Hello- I had a question about the biometric vac appointment. When do you pay any fees for the biometrics test? Currently all I have done is just booked the appointment and provided address for passport delivery. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Once inside they shared that paper with the lady who checked there original documents (this is right before the interview). The lady was extremely helpful and per my parents she has updated everything. We also had a name issue (middle name missing in DS260) she ensured that they will use name in the passport for the GC.
So far it seems we are all set but will discover more when we finally get the GC once parents arrive to USA. Hope this helps, please feel free to PM me if you need more information.
Thanks
Thank You so much for sharing your experience about your parents interview at consulate ! It was really helpful. I do have few follow up questions.
1) About address change, did your parents carry any address proof of new address or just a letter stating old and new address. is there any specific template did you follow ?
2) Within list of interview question you mentioned that they asked about "Show the original family pictures", did your parents carry along family pictures with them for the interview?
Thank You so much in advance ! And best wishes to your parents for upcoming trip to USA.
Thank You

Hi , I appreciate your detailed description and information. helps us plan out next steps and be prepared for this important journey. You mentioned that you got the email about the interview and had to appear for the interview in 15 days. I heard you will be given 2 months time to schedule your interview on your chosen date ? I live in the US and need atleast 2 months to plan everything and come to india for my old parents interview ....Any inputs appreciated . Thankyou so much

1. I had given my parents all utility bills etc as a proof of new address but none was asked. For address change paper I simply typed something which was clear and descriptive like Petioners New Address …. Applicants Address In USA… no template was followed. Per my parents this was quite simple part, they just changed it.
2. Yes parents carried Original pictures from oldest to new about 6 to 8 pics. And all needed paper work around W2, Tax Returns, Latest Paystubs, Job Letter. The 15 minute interview focused on legitimacy of parental relationship and my(petitioner) Job.
All will go well just equip them well with items in Forum
Overall the process for my parents was gentle and well managed considering their age. All thanks to the US consulate.
All the best !!

Hi, The petitions I-130 just got approved for my Parents (Separately for Father and Mother) and I have started the process for NVC. Since NVC is also a separate process for each of them, I do not know how will they get the VISA appointments together ? Any help, suggestion, past experience would be highly appreciated.

There is no fee for the biometric test. When you booked the vac appointment , there must have been a link for the payment of Rs. 650 for the passport delivery. It seems that you have given the address for delivery but not paid the courier’s fee. Do not worry, you can pay at the time of passport delivery/ pickup. Best wishes.

I wonder if your query was targeted to some individual or perhaps to all in the forum. Nothing can be predicted about the delivery of the IL. In January last year people got barely 15 days. Then when our turn came, I got informed about the interview on May 4 and the interview was on June 10. Perhaps things are more regularised now. Maybe you will get more than 45 days advance notification. PLEASE NOTE that you cannot schedule the initial interview on your own. You cannot choose or even the time for the interview. It will be mentioned in the IL. Rescheduling is permissible, in case you have missed the original slot. But let me caution you that rescheduling is a very cumbersome process and the slots are not easy to find. Avoid rescheduling at all costs. Best wishes.

heartiest congratulations on the approval of the I-130 petitions for your parents. Soon your petitions will be transferred to the NVC and you will have a case number starting BMB. Since the I-130 approval has come on the same date and most likely the NVC will get the applications on the same day. In such a situation the priority dates are same. Ensure that the DS-260 is also submitted together. Then they will invariably get the visa appointment together, but through separate mails. Best wishes. Keep the forum updated. People benefit from such experiences.

DearAlienKanpur,
When I filled out DS260 for my parents, on the last page by mistake, I selected "NO" for assistance in filling the form.
So I was planning to draft a letter stating that " I have assisted them in filling the form and forgot to put my name as preparing person of this form" since they my parents not good with english language. So they can provide that when their documents are getting checked at the gate.
Or should I just let it to go as it is that "it was filled by my parents".
Please let me know your opinion.
Thanks,
Shanaya

Just want to let the forum know that my dad's DQ date is June 2022. It should have been December 2021 but NVC somehow did not update the status until June. Anyways, my dad passed away last month waiting for his interview. Now hoping for mom's interview soon. Thank you to everyone in this forum. It's a great source of support, transparency and hope!
