Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

Hi Everyone,

Below are the details for the visa application for my mom. We are still waiting to get the interview letter. I got to see that some people got IL for application with DQ date JUNE-2022. Do I have to contact NVC to check on the current status? Please advice.

Saw someone with DQ date of July 6 got IL. you should get IL in next round.

Heartiest Congratulations satya_gc for getting the IL for your wife. I am sure yours will follow very soon. It is rather sad that the father of gc_check is no more. My heartfelt condolences.
It is heartening to see that people who got DQ in June getting ILs in January. Indicating that the wait time after DQ has now reduced considerably. My DQ was March 21 and I got the IL on May 4, like 14 months waiting time. Best wishes for a successful adjudication of the immigration petition.

Since my parents are coming from Punjab is there any reliable company who arrange for the stay and pick up from airport and then taxi services for the interview location. Any recommendations?

My Dad's interview has been scheduled. I have two questions:

1. How far in advance must I schedule the medical exam for him? In other words, how many days are enough for the hospital to share the report with consulate?

2. Same question for VAC appointments for bio-metrics? Is getting the VAC appointment couple of days before the interview sufficient?

Dear Meetapk,
I do not know what is OFC but if you mean Biometrics and Medical appointments, then please know that appointments for both of them have to be taken by ourselves. If you go through the conversations of last two three months, all your questions will automatically be answered.
1. Go to ustraveldocs.com which is provided in your IL, and take biometrics appointment. (you may be aware that few weeks back taking biometrics appointment was a tough task) Now a days it has become relatively easy, still you will have to act fast.
2. Choose a medical facility from the NVC authorised list and get appointment and get the medical done at the earliest well before visa interview but after you have received the IL.

Hi - how many days gaps should one keep between interview date & medical exam?
Also would VAC few days before the interview date be OK?

Since we are not native to any of the consulate cities, I am trying to guess how many days we will need to stay for these steps.

I think any good hotel will provide these facilities. The charges could be high. I know for sure that Hotel Trident in the Bandra Kurla Complex, will provide all the required facilities. Drop and pick up for the interview is Gratis. The consulate is just behind this hotel. Best wishes for the interview. Wishing a successful adjudication.

heartiest congratulations for the IL for your Dad. The medical must be scheduled at least a week before the interview. Biometrics can be done upto two days prior to the interview. In this forum some people have done the biometrics barely 24 hours prior to the interview. But this is not recommended. Best wishes for a smooth medical and a successful adjudication of the petition.

Can someone please guide me to the procedure to follow after receiving IL. I have seen a post here related to that but could not locate it. If someone please forward it to me, I will really appreciate it. I just want to know how to schedule medical, fingerprints and how earliest or latest we can schedule it.
