Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

From recent experience, Does anyone know how long mumbai embassy takes to dispatch passport after visa approval? Mine status says Passport is received from counselor processing and preparing for delivery.

Passport arrives at blue dart location within 5 days.

I received email yesterday for my parents regarding their GC status and it says, "they approved GC and sent for printing." Does anyone know how long does it take after this for arrival?

Have a question about immigrant visa fee payment. On the payment receipt at very bottom it says “Your payment was applied to the following case(s):
IOEXXXXXXXXXX. But I don’t recognize this number or it’s not mine. My receipt number of I130 is different. When I try to pay again with A number and case number printed on visa it says fee already paid. Just wondering they give this new number upon visa fee payment or it’s a mistake. Can anyone else check their fee payment receipt and confirm?

I am having my biometrics date at mumbai VAC in June, my wife is also appearing with me, however after applying for biometric for both of us, have received confirmation, in single page with bar code of appointment for the both of us on it, is it ok or you need confirmation page separately for myself & my wife.

this is normal. You will get only one email with two bar codes. Please carry two photos for each of you and the DS confirmation page. They will staple the photos to this page. Stamp it and return back to you. This document will be needed at the time of interview.

Congrats Nik_sam for reaching the US. Change of address will definitly happen, do not worry. And do not worry about green card either. SS card will arrive in one week and then GC in 35 to 90 days. When SS card comes, that will be confirmation of your address change.
GC comes from USCIS, so you can check case status on your USCIS account.

Anyway, I have one more question - Is it OK to travel out of US while you are still waiting for green card? I may have to visit India in mid-May for a month or so. In case I dont receive my green card then, will I be able to return back on the same Immigrant VISA or do I need something else?

Yes that is correct, when you pay fees, USCIS gives different number which you can use to track your greencard either by creating account on below website or just tracking by different site.

You have posted an entirely new situation for the forum. The temporary I-551, immigrant visa that we get is valid for entry in the US for six months. To my understanding this is not a multiple entry visa. Exiting the country is never an issue. However, re-entry would pose a problem. I strongly recommend that wait for your green card. In case it is simply unavoidable then, I guess you will have to seek permission for re entry. I understand that there is a provision and a fee for sure. Getting an approval might take upto three weeks. You are the best judge. But try to wait for the physical card. This is my understanding, I may be wrong. Maybe another senior member GeoMac can add or any one else. Best wishes for an early delivery of the GC.

here is a tracker.... based on this, it looks like around 6mos for IL and the interview itself is on an average about 2 months later. So.... 8 mos from DQ.

Just wanted to update folks. VAC and medical appointments are done. We had both on same day, medical in the morning and vac in mid-afternoon. Getting ready for interview now. Thank you all!
