I think if you use US credit card, there is some extra charges besides the ticket cost. Is that what you are asking about? I didn't have any issues buying the tickets but I had to pay like 3% charge for using US credit card.

This group has been really helpful. My mom's interview was a week ago. Her visa was approved and passport was kept. We still haven't received her passport. Ceac.state.gov shows ready and the portal website says the passport is still with us embassy.anybody in the same boat? My dad dad interviewed, his passport was returned in 3 days. My mom was the negative sputum Case.

When I am trying to add my spouse to the Immigration Application on USTRAVELDOCS. It is not accepting my spouse's DS Confirmation Number. The error is expecting DS-160 to be entered but the field label is correctly showing DS 260 Confirmation Number. Did anyone ever come across this issue?

May want to use a card which says - "No Foreign Transaction Fees" Used this card a fair bit in India & elsewhere, and never had any fees. I am sure there are other such cards.

My parents (DQed 1/21, 2/12) got their interview in Mumbai for 8/21.

medical exam
- can they go in for a medical exam at the earliest available appointment? Or is there max gap requirement between exam date and interview date? They live in Hyd, so @ CMM Hyd.

- I tried to create an account for my dad yesterday on ustraveldocs website and once I try to save the profile I get the message "error occurred when loading a Visualforce page". Filed a ticket by emails which they replied & closed saying they were aware of the issue. Does one not need to use that site?

Biometric Interview: What is the process? I am waiting for IL for my 85yo mom and I understand from other posts that the IL will have a link to schedule an appointment with VAC to get biometrics done. Is that correct? This means she will have to make a trip to Delhi or Mumbai for this task. Since my mom had received GC in 2009 and she also got a tourist visa in Dec 2022, is it possible to request a waiver for biometric exam?

Marriot bonvoy (and I believe Costco Citi card as well) have zero international transaction fee. I have made few return bookings between 2022 and 2023 for DEL - LAX - DEL. I found booking a return from DEL - LAX gives me far better rates than booking from LAX - DEL -especially for JAL business class.

Our consular interview date is in July last week. We are not getting any slots for booking finger printing at VFS for whole of July in any cities. Will slots open ? or I should ask for reschedule of interview date? any suggestions?
