Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

Hello guys, just received interview letter today (2nd Feb, 2022) for my parents:

DQ date : 28 July 2020 for mother and 3rd August 2020 for father
interview date: 16 February, 2022 at Mumbai embassy

We have only 12 days to get everything ready including fingerprint and medical. Can anyone please help with the list of all the documents needed?

Please read the following :-
(1) First register each one of them with a User ID and Password.
(2) Take the Medical appointment at the Role Clinic immediately. Rele Clinic has an Online form. Fill it in detail for each your parent. They must carry their actual medicines with them. One strip of whatever they take.
(3) Immediately thereafter take a Biometrics appointment

Start reading from Step 10. That's where you are at the moment. Every single thing you need is carefully listed. To be on the safe side, take a printout of the pages.Thereby, you will not miss any document at each step of the last 3 steps.

to get your parents registered.

Our B1/B2 expired in Dec 2020.Our DQ is Nov 2020.I understand they never ask for valid B1/B2 anywhere

To, PBGranola :- Sir, the statistics that I have collected for over two years plus, clearly indicate that 90% to 95% of the IR5 in India are issued from the Mumbai Consulate only. As a matter of fact, it is more or less a rule that ONLY the Mumbai Consulate conducts the IR5 interview.
The few other's must be related to some other people who may fall under some other criteria, which we as common citizens are not aware of. For example, out of the 622 IR5 visas issued in India in December 2021, 585 were issued in Mumbai. So, 37 were issued elsewhere which we are not aware of.
I have checked on the official website which shows 02 IR5 visas were issued in Delhi in December 2021. For the other Consulates in India namely :- Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru, there is no mention whatsoever.
So, out of 622 issued , we can account for 585 + 02 = 587.
622 - 587 = 35 IR5 visas ,we have no way of knowing where they were issued from. Could be Government related, Diplomat related or some other .

We booked the medical appointment. My parents live in Punjab so we were trying to book biometrics appointment in Mumbai or Delhi but there are none available.

Slots are difficult to obtain, but not impossible. Keep trying, and in general slots will be visible. Try every hour. My sister had her interview on January 6, but the earlies slot she got was Jan.31 at Delhi. She kept looking, then she got one on Jan.9 at Delhi. She did not give up finally she got one on Jan 4 at Mumbai. So every thing just went fine. Good luck. Do post your experience.

Keep trying for biometrics appointment. Check frequently every hour. Some people cancel and some have to cancel the appointment due to various reasons

Does anyone know if these IR-5 stats are for interviews held in all the countries put together or only for Mumbai India?

Off-course it is Mumbai’s figures only
