My sister and her husband were IR-5 (supported by their son) with DQ date of June 20, 2021. They had their interview on Jan 6. But due to the expired PCC, they were asked to submit a fresh one at any VAC without any pre-appointment. Within a week of submission of the new PCC they got their Visa. They landed in Chicago USA on February 23.

Do we receive interview letter via email or will my mom receive a physical copy via mail. Which one is required during the actual interview? Please share your thougths. Thank you!
Dear 2021IR5, Your mother should expect to hear from the NVC by the middle of next month. Who knows it could be earlier. The interview letters are sent by the NVC and not by the Consulate in Mumbai. Updating address is important. You can do so at the USICS website. However this will not affect your mother's application. The Interview letter will be sent both to the petitioner(you) and the beneficiary(your mother). Interview letters will be sent by e-mail only. There will be no hard copies. You can take the print out of the e-mails, for the medical, bio-metric as well as the interview. Best wishes.

Dear GeoMac, It has been nice to communicate with you through this forum. Our children also wanted us to be in USA during the 2nd covid wave. We were able to go and were there for six months May to October. By God's grace, if things keep moving steadily, we can hope to be with our children soon. Best wishes to you all.

This is if your parents have an account already when applied B1/B2 visa

I did this and it worked. During india work time, response was almost immediate (but not during off hours). So create a new login with new email (doesn’t have to be parent’s email. Sponsor is okay) and fill in detail and then it asks to merge the accounts and asks for parents passport picture. Once you submit they give new password at new email.

As for availability mumbai seems to have plenty of appt available all this month. On April 1 there were 17 available before I booked for example.

On medical, the representative said it takes 2 business days for records to transfer to consulate but he still booked the appointment 10 calendar days (8 business days) which was latest he was willing to go so I am thinking that might be standard practice unless there is emergency etc. I suggest fill in application and attached covid record online on relic clinic (mumbai only) and wait a work day and then call the number next day during working hours. Don’t call right away.

          I hope this helps.

            • [QUOTE=smath24;n779727]Hi All, I am new to this forum with a CR1 visa application in process. Is there anyway to track the current DQ that the mumbai consulate is scheduling interviews for? Kindly share the link that I can use to know the wait time I should be expecting. Thanks in advance.[

Naturally CR1 / IR1 (the spouses) are in top priority I saw an excel sheet online somewhere which showed that IR1 / CR1 are much forward, probably their current interviews are of DQ dates of April-May 21. There is a new topic for IR1 / CR1 people. You can put your queries and views in that so gradually a group of IR1/CR1 will form and you will get information. More…go to NVC ‘s site (travel.state.gov) and click on visa statistics>monthly immigrant visa issuances. There you can scroll down and open the latest month ( January 2022). You will see all categories in all consulates around the globe. Scroll and see Mumbai CR1 data. This will give a faint idea as to how many visas are issued every month. If you have time write down all month wise CR1 figures and see how many before you are cleared. And so you will have faint idea as to when your turn will come.

Sir, AlienKanpur has replied to you very accurately. I will just add :- You as the Petitioner and your mother will both receive emails from the NVC when the Mumbai Consulate allocates the slots for that DQ period.
Our son had also moved cities during the pandemic and while we were waiting for our interview email.
I took his new address printed out from a cyber cafe. I took four copies. I gave one at the Biometrics. Second printout for the Interview. The first question asked to us during the interview was why he had moved from one city to the other and they wanted his new address, as the Green Card arrives at the address provided by you. The third address printout was given when we were taken to the interview room after landing at Boston.
Just makes life easier. There is absolutely no need for you to log in and try to update your new address as of now.
                    Regards and best wishes.

Thank you Gharya54 and AlienKanpur for the information. Super helpful!
Also, I have the following questions:
                      1. We have applied for new PCC, but what if we donot have enough time to get the new PCC before the actual interview? Will that delay the visa process?
                      2. Just for information - Does the doctor immidately tell us if there needs to be any follow-up after she undergoes the medical workup? What if they say we need to perform addtional procedures before we finish your medical package? In such cases, do we need to re-schedule the interview date? Whom should we contact if such a thing occurs?

Thank you! This thread is so helpful! I am grateful that I am part of this forum as everyone is active and sharing useful information.

                        1. For the biometric appointment, can we try to schedule it before the day of the interview if available in Mumbai? Also, what information is needed as we try to schedule interview? Is there a way to pre-register?
                        2. For medical appointment, is it possible to find a sample online form? What are the information needed during the time of registration?

Thank you! your replies along this thread are super helpful! appreciate your response.

Glad that your sister and her husband could land in US. It is interesting to note that your sister DQD was June 2021, but 2021IR5's mother DQD being Jan 2021 did not get an IL still. How does this even work?

Biometrics can be done a day before the interview.
You can create an account/ register and book a slot when you receive IL

You have to decide at which hospital you want your medicals to be done . Check on the hospital website what the process is.

For more information go to the link in the photo.
