Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

Sir, on what basis of calculation, do you say that JULY 2020 IR5 people may get an interview in January ? May I please ask ?

DQ date is 11-MAY-2020

My calculations tell me that you should get an NVC email around end January 2022. Kindly let me know if my calculations were correct.

I have my own method of calculation. My maths tells me that very safely we may expect an interview date by end April to end May.
There is a small possibility that it could be slightly earlier because some work related visas interviews have now been waived off at the Mumbai Consuate, and I expect a few slots to be available for other categories, which may include IR5. But safely speaking end April to end May 2022.

I asked u because I am in a contact with one agent so he told that one of his client whose dq was qualified on 18 aug 2020
for ir 5 category so agent told me that we could get visa call in Feb month

VBee Thanks for the timeline post. Very useful. Was wondering about the subsequent steps after the Visa was approved. When did you get the passports back? What visa do they provide and how long is it valid. When did the GC come in mail? Was it sent to petitioner's address or applicant's?

Patelsahil, Sir, very frankly no one can predict. However, I have worked on monthly statistics of IR5 category interviews based on the last few years, on a monthly basis. My calculations are purely based upon this. Let me assure you that I have kept the 11 months of the Mumbai Consulate closure very much in my calculations.
Based upon my tables / calculations created and my two visits to the Mumbai Consulate to meet people early morning coming for IR5 category visas, on 13th & 15th December, I have found out that DQ April 2020 people were being interviewed in mid-December.So, it's another 4 months to August 2020.
Hence, my statement that those IR5's having a DQ of August 2020, can expect an interview email from the NVC by end April up to end May.
Again , let me strongly say that these are mere calculations. There are many variables built in that we may or not be aware of. Add to that is the Omicron situation.
Let us collectively pray that there are no more closures and each one of us gets to be with our loved ones at the earliest.
