Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

Patelsahil, Sir, very frankly no one can predict. However, I have worked on monthly statistics of IR5 category interviews based on the last few years, on a monthly basis. My calculations are purely based upon this. Let me assure you that I have kept the 11 months of the Mumbai Consulate closure very much in my calculations.
Based upon my tables / calculations created and my two visits to the Mumbai Consulate to meet people early morning coming for IR5 category visas, on 13th & 15th December, I have found out that DQ April 2020 people were being interviewed in mid-December.So, it's another 4 months to August 2020.
Hence, my statement that those IR5's having a DQ of August 2020, can expect an interview email from the NVC by end April up to end May.
Again , let me strongly say that these are mere calculations. There are many variables built in that we may or not be aware of. Add to that is the Omicron situation.
Let us collectively pray that there are no more closures and each one of us gets to be with our loved ones at the earliest.

Any idea is the consulate is asking for public charge questionnaire to be filled?

My parents interview is on 5th Jan.
1 thing would like to let everyone know..keep trying for biometric every morning 7 to 8am EST , i was able to book at that time, and able to see lot of slots. Just don't refresh again and again, they freeze your account for 72hours and there is no way to unfreeze the account. Had that issue.

Sir, may I most respectfully ask you how you have got this information ? That people with DQ upto 18th July 2020 have been sent interview letters ? It is important for us to prepare ourselves as our DQ is 19th August 2020. We would be very obliged if you can let us know.

When do expect your interview (approximate month) considering the present scenario ?

if the embassy works with the same speed as the previous month, then will get an interview letter in the Month of March.

Hi my parents interview was done successfully yesterday.

Interview itself was only about 5min, very general questions like who is sponsoring you, when did that person move to US, what do they do, what about your other kids etc.
You get a choice before the interview, what language you want the interview to be conducted in.
Total time in Embassy was about 2 hours. (mainly check in, submitting medical, pcc etc docs at a counter and wait times for actual interview).
Their tourist visa was cancelled on the spot in their passport.

They stayed at Sofitel hotel which is 15min from airport and 5min walk to embassy.

They will get their passport back in next few days with the immigrant visa.

Since it was a 15 day notice to interview, getting PCC, medical, biometric was hard so I recommend folks that expect interview in the month or so atleast get PCC started off.
