Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

If your parents are able to walk on their own, you won't be allowed to go. Even if one of them needs a
wheel chair, they expect the other parent to push the wheel chair.
However, you may still try and ask them if they will let you in.
There are no long queues but they may have to wait seated sometimes upto 3 to 4 hours in the waiting hall
Yes you will be asked for your language preference when you schedule your appointment for biometrics.

Went in at 8:40 am and was out by 10:10

Eye check up

Medical History:
Present Medication(strips of tablets and prescription needed)
Previous surgeries
Long term Medical condition s
Covid vaccination and any other vaccine record you have
X-ray
Physical exam in a hospital gown

I was administered two vaccines.

Information sheet and Vaccine worksheet to be sent by email this evening
Report will be sent to the consulate either today or tomorrow.

Are they allowing senior citizens to be accompanied by someone else? My mother is old and also can only converse in Hindi.

To, Maneeshsah :- Yes, one accompanying member will be allowed. Ask for a wheelchair, that's the safest way .

Congratulations Gharya and thank you for taking time to pass the details to this forum. On the W2 and 1040, did u take just the last 2 years or also the once uploaded to nvc from 2018 ?

To, L2022 :- Last two Financial years W2 and 1040 , not the first page , he checked all the 10 pages of both the years Financial documents thoroughly.
The ones that I had uploaded while filling up the forms two years ago, were not asked for. For financial documents, it is always the latest.
Here, let me caution you. On page 8 of the document, your Petitioner's fresh signature with date is required, which kindly note.
So my son had sent me the entire set, which I got photocopied and put it in my packet. Trust this helps.

Hello Everyone,

I have question on IR5 category. My Mother-In-Law's DQ is Nov 2020 and Father-in-law's DQ is Feb 2021. I see IR5 category ppl getting interview in March for DQ is Oct 2020. So my question is shall Embassy pick my Mother-In-Law's DQ date (Nov 2020) of my Father-in-law's DQ date (Feb 2021) for scheduling interview ?

To Sabbyrent :- From the past few experiences on this forum the couples who have a difference or a gap of 4 months in their DQ dates have been called for the interview together.
So, I suppose your in-laws too will be called in together.

Dear V1V2S, there is no point in trying to expedite the interview. People have tried to expedite but without success. The only way it could probably happen. if there is some life changing event going to take place (like a marriage of an immediate relative in the family). And your request is further supported by Senators / diplomats etc.

dear what i wanted to tell you as a reply, alienkanpur has written even better than my version. What helps us all to adhere on this forum is optimism, something good will happen and that too quickly.
Priority date is significant only for other categories of immigrant visa where the visa numbers have to become available based on priority date. Ir5, ir1, cr1 categories are of immediate relatives like parents, spouses and unmarried children below 18 of us citizens. In these categories, the visa numbers are instantly available on the day of approval of petition.

You most certainly need a PCC from the passport office. My parents had their DQ delayed by 5 months because they uploaded the PCC from the district police station .

Can you explain why is this necessary when US passport copy is provided ?
