Dear Lobby57, the validity of the PCC is one year. I am pasting the link below: https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...m_instructions

please go to the end of the document and you will find that a PCC older than a year is not accepted.

    • Asking a question out of curiosity, when does Nvc status change to in transit after the interview has been scheduled?

Dear Lobby57, My sister and her husband entered USA on Feb. 23. 2022 on the IR5 visa. They have a return ticket for Dec. 7, 2022. There was no issue at the port of entry. They were taken to a separate room, where many similar people were sitting. The passports were taken and after about 45 minutes stamped passports were handed back. No questions were asked. No enquiries about the return ticket.
x-ray report needs to be carried in case of tuberculosis or some such similar medical condition.

Looks like interviews are scheduled for people with DQ date - Nov 2020. So, Jan 2021 interviews should be coming after they schedule Dec 2020 interviews. I am in the same boat as you are. .. Waiting for IL. Hope that helps!

                Meetapk,
The last known DQ date which got interview letter was 30th Nov. 2020. That was two weeks back. After that absolutely no new developement. I suppose they handle cases categorywise every week.

Hello Lobby57, it’s Mumbai. We asked through this email [email protected]. They said PCC is valid for 2 years.

Dear Forum friends, whatever the response was from the Mumbai consulate, or whatever the website may say about the validity of the PCC, the fact is that a PCC older than one year will not be accepted. I am telling this out of experience. My Sister and my brother in law appeared for their interview on Jan. 6, 2022, with a PCC which was obtained more than 14 months ago. They were asked to submit a fresh PCC. Only after the fresh PCC was submitted their VISA was granted.
I am pasting below an excerpt from the US travel docs website:
                      For family-based visa applications:
                      • The appropriate Form I-864 Affidavit of Support for each financial sponsor along with a photocopy of the sponsor’s IRS transcript or most recent U.S. federal income tax return, and any relevant W-2s.
                      • Proof of your U.S. petitioner’s status and domicile in the United States (photocopy of a U.S. passport, naturalization certificate, or lawful permanent resident card).
                      • Evidence of the relationship between the petitioner and visa applicant (such as photographs, letters, or emails).
If you are older than 16 years of age: The original police certificate from your country of current residence and countries of previous residence. If these three items are all true, you must bring a more recent police certificate to the interview:
                      1. You are older than 16 years;
                      2. The police certificate you submitted to NVC is more than one year old; and
                      3. You still live in the country that issued the police certificate.
If one goes with an older PCC then also the interview will be done, but the application will be treated as incomplete.
                      Best wishes to all.
Expecting to see some movement this week.

I can add to this, as of now all Immigrant visas are being handled exclusively at Mumbai Consulate.
