No fee is to be paid at the consulate. Carry a credit card anyways. Best wishes for your parent’s interview.

In the same boat as Momo216, parents DQ date is Dec. 21, 2020 and waiting for the Interview Letter.

you do not need to upload anything, case status will update once you receive an IL. Hope that helps

My parents passed the interview today. It was a smooth process. Documents that were asked were: PCC, Their marriage certificate and Birth certificates. No tax documents were asked.

Questions that they were asked are below:
1. Who is the petitioner
2. when did petitioner move to US
3. How many kids does petitioner have
4. There were many questions about my daughter(their grand daughter)
5. What is your grand daughters name? How old is she?
6. What kind of activities your granddaughter likes
They responded that she is likes painting. Then there were follow up questions like, if she participated in painting competition
7. they asked for photos of my parents with granddaughter but they responded that plenty of photo ES are there but they are all in the phone which is submitted outside.

That was all. Their visa is approved!!

I am finding it very hard to book a VAC appointment. Did follow the instructions given by other members but still not getting the the page where I can book an appointment. It says Thank you for contacting the U.S. Visa Service Desk. We would like to inform you that, your profile duplication request needs to be raised from a different / new email address.

I had similar issue. No need to panic and this is usually resolved very quickly. There were posts about this on tjj hi is forum. You need to create a new account with new email and follow instructions till they ask for a electronic copy of applicant (not petitioner) passport. After submitting they respond with a new reset password. Good luck.

Are these DQ dates in American format or Indian format? e.g. 12/01/2020 = 12th Jan 2020 or 1st Dec 2020 ?
You can not edit i130 or DS260 forms now that you have submitted.
New Passport should be acceptable provided it is presented along with old Passport. However please confirm from some experienced person.

Do they change cases status before sending out Interview Letter ?

My parents interview is this Thursday (April 7th). They have 1.5 year old PCC and the earlier appointment we could get for their PCC is April 13th (after interview date).

If the interview goes well, will they keep the passports and ask them to submit PCC via dropbox in Hyderabad?

If they keep my parents passports, can they still get PCC certificate from passport office? Is original passport mandatory for PCC process?


Anyone with experience in this area? Your answers are appreciated.d
