Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

To Lobby57, so far from the forum I have learned that PCC has to be issued with a year. However, i think someone said that their PCC was accepted, and it was issued more than a year ago.
I would apply for new PCC just to be safe.

My mother has DQ date of Jul 2021. Based on messages on this forum it looks like she will hopefully get her interview in Nov 2022. She is based in Kolkata. I was wondering if I can go ahead and schedule her for the medical exam in Jul 2022 as she can only get this done in Mumbai and she will be there during that time. Is it ok to do the medical exam ahead of receiving the IL?

My dad's documents were accepted in September 2021. I did not realize this but the status just says Accepted in the CEAC website. I do not see a Documentarily Qualified status. I did not get any email either. Nothing in the CEAC messages too. Are there others here who got an IL without a DQ status on the website?

Dear mdhar , a medical examination before you receive the IL is meaning less. You can do the medical examination but it will not get linked to the Visa petition. Let me also state that the validity of the medical examination is six months. Wait for the IL and then plan for the medical etc, Best wishes.

My mom has interview on 25th April and as I look at required documents ..the list has I864 affidavit of support ..I tried to login into site to get the document ..apparently I cannot download the doc ..Any ideas how to get the doc ..

Dear mdhar,
When you try to take appointment for Medical or Biometrics, you need to provide certain info. which includes IL deatails too. In other words, you can not do biometrics and medical before being schedulled for IV interview.
Secondly, it is not compulsory to get medical done in mumbai only. There are are several medical institutes / doctors who are authorised by the US consulate to do medical certification. This includes doctors in Kolkotta as well.

Dear yankee25,
The i864 (AoS) was first made and saved on computer before uploading in your account (CEAC), was'nt it? So check in your folders. Also you can open your account with case No. and Invoice id and see the uploaded documents. You can copy from there.
Infact, the visa officer in mumbai may not incist on copies of AoS as this is a document containing personal finance details which is communicated directly to NVC by the supporter, which ideally need not be passed to the third party including the beneficiary.
On the other hand, the reality is that, our family culture and setup is such that almost everything (job,position,salary,house and amenities etc.) are already in knowledge of the parents (in most cases).

Dear meetapk, your presence at the interview is not mandatory. Only the beneficiary is required to be present. Even if you come all the way, then, accompanying the beneficiary will be on the discretion of the interviewing officer. Best wishes . Good to hear that IL for DQ date Jan. 26, has been issued.

My parents DQ date is Dec 11th 2020… so far no IL or email. Please suggest what are my options? Is there anyone still waiting for IL from Dec DQ.
