Question 2) in CEAC account i just noticed some difference in payment in my Mom and Dad's account , For mom I see I made two payment, one AOS:$120 and for IV fee: $325, however There is just one payment made for Dad which is IV fees : $325. This all happened in Jan 2020, Do I need to pay anything else now? Dad's account says :Paid: under Affidavit of support column. please help why there is difference is fees for both parent?

I am also in same boat. Do I need to pay any fee's for my mother, her interview is on May 6?

Has Mumbai embassy sent a new IL for previously cancelled interviews to anyone?
My parents missed our consular interview (IR5) on Apr 11th, 2022. we are not able to reschedule a new one as no dates are showing up. Now the biometric and medical tests are done.

Through the conversations in this forum, we saw a number of cases whose interviews were cancelled due to covid lockdown at mumbai consulate. All of them were strugling to get their appointment re-schedulled. NVC said that they schedule interview only once. If for any reason the beneficiary can not appear for interview, the re schedulling has to be done by the beneficiary. So try. Also be careful, somebody in the forum wrote earlier, that the account gets locked up if we try to open it frequently.

Dear yankee25, as soon as the visa is approved, the beneficiary will be given some document where the instructions for paying the fee will be given. You need not wait for the arrival of the passport. Best wishes.

Dear aranade, Welcome to this Forum. Priority date is of no consequence. Interview letters(IL) are sent on the basis of the DQ( documentarily qualified) date, which in your case is Dec. 12, 2021. As of now people with DQ date of Feb. 4, have been sent the IL. Your date happens to be more than 10 months away. You can hope to get the IL around or after October this year. This is only a very crude extrapolation, nothing can be predicted with certainty. Follow the updates in the forum. Best wishes.

I had filed GC application for both my father and mother back in April 2020. Unfortunately, my father passed away last year so I didn't submit the docs for him after the initial application. Last week, I got a notice from NVC about canceling his application due to no updates for a year. My question is -- should I notify NVC of his death? Does notifying or not notifying have any impact to my mother's application?

Dear maneeshsah, it is unfortunate that your father passed away last year. Even though the NVC has canceled your father’s petition it is necessary that you should inform the NVC about the demise of your father. It cannot have a negative impact on your mother’s petition. If at all, it may only add a sympathy factor. Best wishes .

Dear maneeshsah, as of now the NVC has scheduled interviews for People with DQ date upto Feb. 4, 2021. The way things have moved over the last few months, it is possible that you may get the IL sometime after August 2022. This is only a very crude extrapolation. My mom's is the same DQ date. There are others who have an earlier DQ date that haven't received an interview letter either (per the Google Doc being floated around on this forum). Therefore, I suggest waiting for some more time before contacting NVC. We will both hopefully hear back in the next week or two.
