Urgent, can VAC appointment be in different city than Mumbai? trying to book OFC appointment , it gave me 5 option, Including Kolkata. what should i do? can i book vac and visa interview in different city?

In your interview letter go to the link given for interview preparation instructions.
Go to 2 . Register for courier service/ other pre interview instructions
Select Mumbai consulate
Go to
Select country
Select immigrant visa
Click on green login tab on top right corner
Follow the instructions

I would Echo what NNSidhu said above, I followed the steps mentioned in this link "U.S. Consulate General Mumbai, India - BMB (state.gov)"
For first step which is booking Biometric appointment, i suggest to everyone please sign up with new email address which you possibly have not used in the past to take any appointment for visa services which will make life much easier. Once you login --> you will be able to see the dashboard with top left corner with multiple options --> you need to choose option for appointment..... will take you to multiple pages with all the information you would have to enter.
I have booked the Biometric appointment for Jun 02 for my parents, their interview is next day Jun 03. Once you booked the appointment it will bring you to the last page where you can print the confirmation of that appointment letter and that will have all the instructions which you would have to do after that.

It is very very weird situation. My dad's case was terminated on April 4th and then was reinstated. When I called NVC on 14th April to understand what is going on, I was told that my dad is still at same place in the queue. I dont have to do anything and they will rectify the technical glitch shown on CEAC website to pay fees again.

After knowing today on May 4th 2022, that so many people from DQ date Feb and March and even April Start of 2021 have got IL, I called NVC again and the representative said, my mom is in line(for whom i did not get any termination notice) like my dad. And for my dad, they said, the case has gone to Admin to rectify the technical glitch.

However, they did not have an answer that if my dad is going to get delayed IL due to this glitch. They just told me to wait for 6 weeks until I get a response back from the admin team. I really want to be hopeful but this kind of things makes me nervous again. FYI- my parents DQ date is 26/27 March 2021.

Is there anyone here who has a DQ date in Feb March 2021 and still have not received Interview Letter?

Forparents96, do you know if the medical can be done anywhere in Kolkata? Browsing different sites, I could not find any location in Eastern States. Probably, I was not looking at up to date lists.
Keep us updated once you choose the place for medical.

I saw many months ago that time there was a option in Kolkata for medical but i guess things have changed recently. I am planning to take medical appointment in Mumbai. Did you get your IL yet?

Got my IL just now. My Interview date is 21st June.DQD 3rd April 2021.

I got IL for my father today. Interview date is June 09. His DQ date is March 20,2021. I have booked his Biometric appointment for 2 pm for June 08 at Mumbai. His interview is next morning. At 8am. Is that good enough time gap or do I need to have more time between the two appointments?

NNSidhu, Normally it is good idea to do Biometrics one day before IV interview, to finish both in one go as the candidates come from different distant places to Mumbai. However, there is one risk in to it. Mumbai monsoon is heavily rainy in June and commuting becomes very hard at times. If by chance you miss your biometrics due to rain or water logging or traffic jam, the consulate will not allow you in for IV interview.

Thank you all! Those who have taken all three appointment in Mumbai, can you please share your experience? There is only one medical exam center which is ReleClinic. any insight of this clinic will ne helpful.
