Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

Thank you all! Those who have taken all three appointment in Mumbai, can you please share your experience? There is only one medical exam center which is ReleClinic. any insight of this clinic will ne helpful.

It's good. They know the process. Took about 3 hrs to complete the checkup. Asked about 40 question on health history.

I called VAC to ask they asked me to send an email to ask if I can keep VAC appointment. My dad's appointment was with her too, don't know if we should cancel both now? Mohali Max people kept both the reports. Did your mom get interviewed again? How did you cancel the interview appointment?

I have not yet.Nor I have any emails on cancelling the consular interview , The medicals were done yesterday May 4th, and her interview is on May 24th. If 8weeks for sputum results we are looking for dates after July 5th but not sure how to go about booking one.

Hi I had faced the same issue. Never create new account. However since we did, we need to upload to the passport for whose detail you entered while creating the account. Then it will get verified by embassy in a day ot two. Mine is verified.

Old account has my mother as dependent too, but it doesn't let me add DS260 which might be Immigration Case ID for IR5. In your new account, were you able to add both parents? Now in new account Save itself is blocked saying you already have an existing account.

So, when you apply for tourist visa, you just have one account for both parents however it has one of your parent as the primary account holder. For me it was my father. So , I was able to book my father's appointment. For IR5 , we cannot add dependent so only one person appointment. Then I created a new account for my mother. Then the issue that the profile existed previously. So, I merged them. Then was asked to upload mother's passport. Within a day, they approve new account and was able to book the appointment for my mother. So, two accounts for two appointments for both parents.

Is the case id different for both parents? It should be different. Then probably only your father appointment will be cancelled not sure though.

Is there anyone in this forum who has filed for their Parent's Greencard (Petitioner living in the USA and Parents living in Inida), I wanted to know if you had to file two separate I130 for for both parents or one as primary and other parents can immigrate with the primary applicant as dependent?

Question 1: I am scheduling her biometrics appointment and under the mailing section, do I have to put her current address she lives at or can I put my sister's address instead since my sister lives in a city in gujarat and the passport delivery will be easier there instead of a remote village in rajasthan.

Question 2: How do I make the appointment for her medical exam?

Question 3: Will there be an opposition to pick up her passport after the interview at the visa center location or will it get delivered to the address I put based on question 1? and if we are able to pick up the passport in person, how long do we have to wait till it will be ready for pickup, I plan on staying in mumbai if the passport will be available for pick the next day.

Dear abhishekhawat, First of all a disclaimer, that I am not an expert in these immigration matters. I do have logical answers to your queries:
Question 1: The address should be same which appears in the Passport as well as the PCC. For the passport issue you can opt for a pick up. You can choose the location of the courier for pick up. But keep in mind that for the pick a photo ID will be needed.
Question 2: you can choose any approved place in the country for the medical examination. Some places you have to talk on phone and at many places you may have to fill up an online form and then a date is allotted. My experience with Delhi is very good. You can phone them and they will give you a slot right away. Also please keep in mind that the medical should be completed at least 6 (may be 5) days before the scheduled interview date.
Question 3: I am not aware whether they have the provision of picking up the passport from the Consulate. But you can certainly opt for a courier location in Mumbai. I understand that the delivery of the passport can easily take 5 working days. In all likelihood it may not be available on the next day.

b) When tried to update the DS 260 number for my wife ( as she is secondary) system throws error' Invalid DS 160' . This is a known issue from the forum updates.

What I am looking to understand is that unlike in case of 'Non-immigrant visa' it is not possible to link two applicants together in case of 'Immigrant visa' for VFS appointment. They need to have individual accounts and schedule appointment with VFS. Can some one confirm this understanding please? Based on this, i can follow one of the suggestions given earlier on this forum to create a separate account for my wife and follow the steps to resolve the potential issues in that process.

I really need help from this forum if anyone has been in the same situation. My mom has been asked to do Sputum test so she can't go for interview but my dad's medical was cleared. They are old and i don't want them to go separately so has anyone sent an email to support to reschedule both? I called embassy and they asked me to send an email, I sent and asked if i can wait for my mom's result and my dad can go with her instead of making 2 trips. They have not replied and date is approaching fast. Can I cancel my dad's interview too? What reason should i put in email. Please help.

Dear Varaprasad1959, I created a new ID and everything went smoothly. This was possible, I think, because our passport numbers in the DS-160 application was different. In your case your existing ID should work. Initially the page which opens is for DS-160, but the moment you choose the Immigrant category, it will guide you through. Once you have entered the CASE NO and the DS confirmation number you will be asked to add a family member, Also remember to choose All Immigrants or Diversity Visa. This then takes you to a page where you select your VISA category as IR-5 and then on to the VFS page. Best wishes.

Yes that's correct as far as my case was concerned. But you can double check with the embassy number.
