    Dear L2022
Though my children have specifically told me not to worry about anything including Insurance, I checked with INSUBUY (which is seen as ad on this forum) in their "Insurance for new immigrants". To get a free quote, they have a simple form which asks for your age and the day you start etc. They do not ask any personal info. neither they try to get your contact info. Instantly there will be a quote per month. For a 72+ like me the quote as on that day was $340 pm. Try and just have an idea. Do not make any commitment, we do not know them. (And I am not on their marketting team ha ha ha.)

Medical done on May 3rd in Mohali.
Finger printing done one day before in Mumbai
Interview done & cleared, not many questions asked...age of grand kids and how many time been in US before.
Next step: passport will be mailed to home address in few days.

Thanks all! Wish you all good luck.
      Received passport with IR5 stamp
      no other documents/package received.
seems like no other document need to be carried for immigration check, I was under impression some sealed envelope will come with it to carry for immigration check.
is it same for others who got their passport stamped and travelled to US with just passport.

Since long we have not heard anything from you. Your parents DQD was 5th March 21 and they were in US. Hope they are back and have been to interview. Please share your experience, if you please, for the benefit of all our forum members.
        Dear GeoMac,
I have received the IL on May 4th for my Parents. Their Visa interview is on June 3, 2022.
I have booked the biometric appointment and medical appointments for them.
        Thanks

I calculated on the basis of global backlog of all immigration cases on March 31st, 2021 which was 494289.
Since then every month a certain number of IV cases were scheduled which tallied to 457465 till April 2022 end. This means that on 1st May 2022, there are 36824 cases left to be scheduled in May which I suppose they must be doing now. (In April they did 32439 cases and 32317 in March) So if this trend persists for May as well, all of the backlog for the DQD of March-April 2021 will be over and they are likely to receive IL very soon.
Please remember, these are global figures. Mumbai consulate, as seen in past 3 months, works for IR5 once in every 3 weeks. And that (auspicious) day falls on 10th of this month. So cross fingers AlienKanpur, and wait for congratulations from all of us.
I am trying to calculate your figure of 457465. I think you have added number of IV cases which were scheduled from April 2021 to April 2022. But these figures don’t add up to 457465. Can you please elaborate as I am DQ in April 2022 and trying to figure out my status. I hope you will not mind

Dear Yankee25, see my post 1518. same is copy pasted below:

My Sister and her husband entered the US on February 23 and I quoting their experience. When your parents will report to the Border control at the port of entry, they will be taken to another room. They will be asked to submit the paper that they would receive along with the passport. The officer will take the passport and that paper and your parents will be made to wait for a while. There could be several people waiting in that room. After a while, may be half an hour, the duly stamped passport saying admitted will be handed back. To my knowledge no questions are asked and no further tests are administered. You are expected to carry the sealed CD /X-ray, with you but they may not even ask for it. Best wishes. Do update their actual experience for the benefit of all of us after your parents have arrived.

Dear NNSidhu, you can perhaps stay back and get the stamped passport on the third day. I an not very sure though. Best wishes. Do share your experience.

Clearly the beneficiaries can land anywhere in the US, and then proceed to the petitioner’s house. Border control in US is well aware of such circumstances. Don’t worry. Best wishes.
                      Thank you AlienKanpur

                          Yes dear sumanbehl,
I am happy that most of the predictions based on calculations have turned out to be true to a major extent. My concern was only to know when it would happen. It happened. Now you want to make an assumption as to when your case will open. Your dqd is in April 2022 so you should know how many cases were pending before you. For that go to NVC immigrant visa backlog report.
Scroll down and click on Previous Backlog Reports. In drop down report click on IV Backlog Report March 2022. You will see 436700 cases pending after scedulling in March 2022.
Now see reports of every month and deduct the number of cases schedulled every month. This is how you will know grossly how many have finished before you and when your turn is likely.
As per my calculations, my IL was likely to arrive in June. But I think they worked fast. In April they issued 907 visas of IR5 category in Mumbai alone.

                              • It seems forum is talking about folks getting IL for April/May 2021 while my mothers date is end of March 2021. Anyone out there in similar boat? Is the IL email copied both to the petitioner and applicants email? Just wondering in case she lost her email somehow ?

I called and emailed the support number multiple times but they have canned response and no real help. Her priority date is May 8, 2019.
