Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

I know there is lot of useful information posted on this forum which I have been following from long time. However, since I got IL for my father today for 6th July 2022. Can you guys please help me to know how to book the Medical and Biometrics appointment for my father. He lives in Delhi. Also in previous post I read somewhere that I can't try booking appointment multiple times since it lock the account. I will appreciate if someone can share their experience again.

Congrats for the IL for your father. Booking the medical in Delhi is straightforward. Call Max Lajpat Nagar, and be ready with the IL. They will ask for some information and you can book a slot. For biometrics you will have to do through the link given in the IL. Create an account. Fill up the forms, you will need the passport and case number etc. As you go along somewhere you will have to choose All Immigrant/ Diversity Visa. The system will guide you through the entire process. Another senior member GeoMac can also advise in this matter. Best wishes

In the pre interview checklist https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...view_checklist, there is a item "Original or certified copies of birth certificates for all children of the principal applicant (even if he or she is not accompanying).".

Does this mean we need to get birth certificates of all children?

you can create just one ID and then as you proceed there will be an option to add a beneficiary. You can then add the other name. You will need the DS-260 confirmation number and case ID starting BMB. Best wishes.

Heartiest Congratulations sapnaanagol. Ample time to make preparations. Get the medical over on top priority. Biometrics slots were sometimes difficult to find, but I guess, off late this is no longer an issue. It is however best to get over with all the pre interview formalities. Best wishes.

Sorry for re-posting but I am getting nervous trying to find hotels and also about whether there is a place to store cell phones at the consulate. The negative reviews for many hotels (except the 5 star ones) are sometimes scary. I am mostly going to pick Ramakrishna but please share your feedback on any other hotels that were decent. My mom will also leave her luggage behind with the hotel front desk so that needs to be taken into consideration as well. Thank you in advance.

You may examine the option of booking Hotel Indie stays. It is about 2.5 KM from the consulate.

Dear anvinjoe, I too have heard about this one year rule. So all I did was to send an expedite request through their enquiry portal. Then they will respond to your mail in three to four weeks and you have a proof. It may be about three months before you hear from the NVC. Best wishes.

As per my understanding, this one year clause is applicable for those cases that are yet to be "Documentarily Qualified". After getting DQ'ed, you need to simply wait for the "Intimation Letter" (email from NVC) for the interview.

Both my parents filed for green card and my father got his IL for July 5th. Is it standard procedure to have different IL for Mom and Dad or is it usually on the same IL? My mom hasnt received any yet.

AlienKanpur GeoMac - looking for your advice as senior members here. As noted earlier my mom's IL is now July 6. But she is here with us in US. She came to help my brother's wife who is going through chemotherapy. Hence, I was wondering if we could try to move her appointment for a month or month and half like in Mid to end of August. But, it seems you guys advise against it? What is the downside? What kind of potential problem and delays could we face? If not major, what is the process to reschedule?
