I was out away from my ipad so did not get good news of your visa till now. I feel very happy and read all the narration and information you put in. Felt I should have been there to meet you and see you personally. Alas! My date is 21st. By the way I enjoyed reading all what you put in here which answered many questions which were in peoples minds. Thank you for locker info. too.
Wish you happy and safe journey and happy meeting with your daughter and Son in Law and kids. Happy re-location.
    Dear GeoMac,
thanks a lot for your congratulations and all the good wishes.
GeoMac your posts have educated all of us from time to time. After the approval, I suddenly feel that I have all the time in the world and I will therefore continue to contribute to this forum.
We plan to leave for the US by the middle of August, I.e. almost two months from now.
Best wishes GeoMac and all members of the forum for their upcoming interviews.

Dear sir, I can remind now. You were having a black stick in hand and wearing half pent. You were interviewed at window 12 or 13. Our previous token number was 239. Then we changed it to P616. We were interviewed after you at window 10. I was wearing a striped shirt, red and off white. My son is living in Maryland. Where your daughter is living? Hope to meet you in USA. All the best for both of you.

                Dear Forparents96,
Thanks a lot for the congratulations. Best wishes for your parents interview on the 24th of June. I can understand the nervousness. I too was a bit nervous. But do not worry, by God's grace I have not seen any case in this forum whose case was rejected. There were cases, when some more information was needed by the officer and a form 221(g) has been given. But as I see all your papers are in order, so you can rest assured that God's blessing will be there on you all.
The two folders that you have made are just perfect. Nothing else will be needed. What is generally needed is available in your folder 1 items 1,2,4 (PCC-new) 5,6,7 and 8. From folder 2, they can ask for latest W2 and Tax returns, if they have not been uploaded on the CEAC website. I carried everything that you mention in folder 2, but they did not ask for any thing at all. It is ok to carry items 3 to 6 of folder 2, but I am almost certain that these will not be needed,
Ask your parents to carry only a phone and no electronic items, including smart watches. Phone can be deposited in a cubicle just outside the entrance to the Consulate for which Rs. 50 will be charged. They can come back and then call you with the good news.
                Best wishes

                  Dear Lobby57,
You sure remember me. Your description is just fine. I also remember the token 239 but I did not know about P616. Why this change of token number? Anyways we were so close and yet we missed out meeting each other. God willing it might happen in USA. My daughter lives in Rochester, MN.
Best wishes to you all. When are you planning to travel to USA. We plan on leaving in the middle of August.

As I wrote sometimes back, we were more or less like Rolling Stones, met for some time and the circumstances would roll us away. As you wished once I migrate to the US we will come out of the guise and will talk. By the way my plan is to move in August as well.

We had an appointment for 8:30am and reached the place (Dhirubhai Amabani Square opposite to the US Consulate, Mumbai) one hour in advance. Appointment holders for the day are called out based on the time slot to form a queue at the entrance where a preliminary check (passport and IL) is done before an entry in to the consulate premises is permitted. At 8 am, there was an announcement for all candidates (all visa categories IR5/F1/L1 etc) having interview slots for 8:00/8:10/8:20/8:30AM to form the queue for preliminary document check at the entrance of the consulate. So, in my view it is better to reach at least 45 minutes in advance contrary to 15 mins indicated on the website. As bags/mobiles/smart watches/electronic devices are not allowed, there is a locker facility right at the entrance of the premises accessible only after preliminary checks. Record of items being stowed (cell phones, smart watches, deodorant /perfume bottles, USB drives etc.) is made and you are charged a fee of Rs 50 per item. Therefore, it is better to bring only documents and a phone only, else you may end up paying extra for stowage of other items. After entering the consulate premises, security check (X-ray) is done. Thereafter, GC candidates are allowed to enter the second premises while other candidates (for F1 and other visa categories) are separated to form queue as there numbers are too large compared to GC candidates. In the second premises, you have to take a token (single token for family) and await for a your turn for detailed document check/submission. We entered the second premises at around 8:30AM and had to await for detailed document check until 9:45AM.This lasted for about 10 minutes, our original documents PCC/birth/marriage certificates were taken by the attendant along with current & old passports and we were asked to wait again for the final interview by the consular staff. After waiting for about 40 minutes, we were called for the interview which started with an oath. This part of the interview lasted only about five minutes with 4/ 5 questions pertaining to - (a) who is sponsoring your visa? (b) Where is the sponsor living? (c) Have ever overstayed in USA during your previous visits? (d) When did you visit your sponsor last? etc. At the end of the interview, the interviewer informs the final outcome. In our case, we were told that the GC is approved and our current visitor visa stamped on the passport was cancelled right in front of us and we were given an instruction sheet for further steps. Now we will have to collect our passports after 3-5 days. Thanks a lot to this forum, as we could get a wealth of information from here. I have tried to give details, so that one knows what kind of events are likely to happen when you come for the interview. Wishing all the GC aspirants all the best.

The USCIS filed at/submited/approved dates are all irrelevant at this stage. What matters is the DQ date (when NVC said that your documents were "documentarily qualified"). Check out the tracker at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...MCg/edit#gid=0

                            • Hi,
My DQ date is 22nd May 2021, any idea when I can expect IL? The second thing I heard right now is that DQ dates for April/May are going on, so does it change any status in CEAC acct like"In Transit" like that or directly we receive an email for the IL slot??

Once we receive the IL email then do we have sufficient time to finish our Medical and get ready for the Interview date ( live in HYBD)?

I have prepared similar bunch. Mine interview is on 21st.
Please keep some pictures showing Petitioner and Beneficiary together at any age/stage/function of life, along with some family members. No need of making big prints like 5x7, but the printer will make one single A4 sized photo paper sheet which will accommodate 9 pictures in it. Also carry along COWID vaccination certificate. If flying to Mumbai, wearing mask is mandatory.
                                Dear GeoMac,
Best wishes for your interview coming up on the 21st.
I had carried some 15 pictures, all originals. They did not ask for the pictures. My suggestion is to carry only originals, please do not create a one page print out, because the originality is then lost. Covid vaccination certificate is (supposedly) a must. But no body even bothers to ask for it, no body checked arogya setu, but you must have it on your phone. Wearing a mask is mandatory but barely 25 percent people put it on. Even in the plane this is not being enforced. Even in the hotel Trident, most clients do not wear a mask. The entire staff is properly masked. No temperature is taken, no body asked for the vaccination certificate. But as per rules these things are mandatory and we must follow rules to the hilt.
                                Best wishes
