Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

My mom completed her biometrics but is still waitin for her sputum medical results. Any way you know how to schedule the interview appointment as and when she gets cleared medically?

Where did you Mom give the sputum test? Is it the same place that she had medical exam or the doctors sent her to different test center?

Is there anyone who struggled for Administrative Process (221-g) and how long?
Please let me know how long it will take?
They give my mother in law 221(g) she has only one passport since now, it’s valid.
but 221(g) asking more passport expired or issued by any other country. She never traveled outside of country. very frustrating

Hello MJBrar,its really very sad!Did you check your MIL"s passport for validity date?You should write to them clearly that she has not travelled anywhere.maybe a lawyer can help you?

The next set of IL should be sent out in the coming week. Hopefully your mom will get the IL. But this is an extrapolation only based on the pattern that has been observed over the last few months. Best wishes.

You need to call US Travel docs to schedule consulate appointment. Not sure either they will do it or enable consulate interview appointment window in cgifedral and you would be able to schedule it as per the available window. In either case you need to call US Travel Docs

Dear kla1289, tooolong and others,
to the best of my knowledge, the rescheduling of all interviews have to be done by the petitioner or the beneficiary. The NVC or the consulate in unlikely to do that. Rescheduling, to my understanding, can be done only after the due date has elapsed. I may be wrong. If any one has any other confirmed input, please update.

As per the current wait times due to Covid 19 backlog the interviews are being scheduled by the Consulate anything from 12 to 18 months after being DQed. Best wishes.

The validity of the IR5 visa is 6 months, therefore, your M-in-L passport should have at least 6 months of validity. If not then quickly get her a new passport issued (Tatkaal) and upload it on the CEAC site also inform the Consulate by mail etc. Best wishes.

if the status shown is issued, then two to three days after that you will get a mail giving you the AWB number of the courier. Generally, the SMS from the courier arrives simultaneously or may be the next day.
