I landed on jfk yesterday. The visa officer asked my US address and took my picture on camera and sent me to another officer where waited for another 5 minutes. The officer did not ask anything and put a stamp in the passport and said "good day".Hardly 10 to 12 minutes of total process, majority of which was waiting.
I had 6 dollar notes in my wallet which I used to release a trolley for my bags. Got the bags and rolled out of the airport to my waiting daughter and SiL.and they drove me home.
Firstly, CONGRATULATIONS for having reached safely. God bless you and your family.
Secondly, there is an "Orange Alert" for very heavy rains in Mumbai for the next three days.
Thirdly, Summer Holiday rush is in full swing. Therefore, the Visitors are on priority.
Lastly, do not worry, as we have waited so many years, so a few more days will make no difference.
Best wishes to all in the Q.

Did you take the RT-PCR test before boarding the flight.
enjoy with your family. Best wishes

Thank you sir for your encouraging words. You have always been very helpful and encouraging source in this forum.
I asked Emirates in particular whether I need any RT PCR test results both for Dubai and USA. The executive told me that it was not required for USA and since my stay in Dubai was also for a short transit period (two and half hours) the test was not needed. An attestation form was to be filled online with in 24 hours before flying. Vaccination certificate was checked at the checkin counter and immigration counter.

This is absolutely a new situation. In our case the interview was completed by 9.20 am on June 10. We took a flight back to home same day. At 10 pm on the same day I checked the status and it showed as Issued or approved. And it was followed by a description that the visa has been printed. Since it was a Friday, there was no change of status until Monday evening. Then the second website which I mentioned showed that the passport is in transit.
Yours is a strange case. Since VISA approval paper was handed over after the interview, I do not envisage a refusal. Maybe the website was not updated. Keep your fingers crossed. Update the forum when the passport is delivered. I am hoping all will be well. Best wishes.
        Thanks for reply,
my mother received her passport with stamp today finally, Waiting for father now may be tomorrow.
I think website problems. Still case status not changed.

After the sputum results are got,the next step we will have to follow.I have not received any mail from Mumbai Consulate cancelling my visitors visa.
The lsat day of my sputum submission was on 15th June.
Did your mom get the mail from Delhi embassy?
              "sigh"

Yes the from address is "New Delhi Non Immigrant Visa Enquiries" and the subject line is "Notice of Visa Revocation". First few lines are : "This email is to inform you that your U.S. visa has been revoked pursuant to section 221(i) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) and is no longer a valid travel document. This revocation is effective immediately as of July 6, 2022, unless you are physically present in the United States at this time, in which case the revocation will become effective immediately upon your departure from the U.S"

July 6 was my mom's scheduled Interview date in Mumbai for immigration visa (which she couldn't attend due to Sputum test issue). So this may be a BAU process, she probably was able to get email notification as we may have provided them her email as part of the renewal process - just a guess"

The Sputum test & following action by the Embassy has a lot of grey areas.I wish they had put up clearly on the net like other aspects of IR5 isa.
Only time will tell whats in store for us!All the best for your mom.I will keep you posted as I will get the result before your mom.

Have you checked status of your application on CEAC?
                            Dear tooolong
                            1. IR5 cases are dealt with at US Consulate Mumbai only.
                            2. When they grant Immigration Visa, they put a "CANCELLED WITHOUT PREJUDICE" stamp on nonimmigrant visa page in your passport.

My point is that, that this may be a phising mail. Be careful.

                                Dear Kirki,
NVC has sent out Interview letters(IL) to people who got DQ in June Last year. So you may expect the IL in the next 10 to 12 months. This is only a statistical extrapolation. Nothing can be predicted with certainty. Keep following the posts in this forum to keep track of the updates. Best wishes
