Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

Can someone share insights into what are the various medical tests, especially the one which triggers the sputum test, are so that people who are awaiting their interviews can get those checked out before hand and not run into trouble once the interview is scheduled? Sputum test seems like a huge delay for people who are already waiting for years now as the whole process gets delayed by 2+ months. Insights will be greatly appreciated.

Is there any update on how old of PCC being accepted? my PCC is a year old (from late June last year) and I am expecting IL in September. Wondering if I should get a new one or would the existing one will be useful. Getting a new PCC is a hassle.

I've couple questions. My MIL case was documentarily qualified on April, 21, 2022. It seems IL for people DQ'd last year are coming now, so I guess it may take quite some time for us. Any rough estimate as to when we could get IL in our situation?

MIL's Indian passport is expiring in 1 year. Since the passport should have 8+ months of validity at the time of interview (and) given that our interview is likely far away, we are thinking of renewing the passport right now. If we do renew the passport, 1) Will it cause any issue with our already DQ'd case?, and 2) What is the procedure to submit new passport copies to NVC if it is OK to renew and once we have it?

1. On NVC website, click on visa statistics and scroll down and see the last month’s data. Further scroll down and see past monthly data. Calculate how many are pending before your DQD and then use simple logic. Thus you will have faint idea as to when your turn will come. In my case I used these steps and it turned out to be correct rather a bit early.
2. Passport renewal is a matter of 15 days max. Do it at convenience some times later in the year.
3. New passport will not cause any issue in your already DQed case. You need not upload it too. At bioMetrics, Medical and Visa Interview, present the new passport only. Soon after you get new passport, apply for PCC, at PSK or passport office.

All your questions in your posts 2163 and 2164, have been answered manifold in this forum during last few months still I provide info. for ready reference.
1. Height weight Vision are checked
2. Xray of chest is taken. If any indication of
tb is seen, they ask for sputum test.
3. Vaccines of different kind are injected.
4. PCC issued by Passport office only is valid.
5. Validity of PCC is 2 years.

Dear agupta2k,
pl. check the account on CEAC for messages. If the documents submitted were acceptable and no more evidences were required then with in a spell of 2-3 days they would have sent you a message in CEAC that the documents were accepted. Also in status they would indicate that the case is documentarilly Qualified. Secondly, check whether the fee is paid in full and in its right way. If every thing seems okay and still there is no DQ, then you need to write an email to NVC'.

Thanks GeoMac for your response. Checked at CEAC site, the status remains the same. No message on DQ still. All the fees was paid last year itself. Wrote an email as well asking NVC to confirm is anything else is needed. Unfortunately no response. Case status shows "your case is at NVC"

Is anyone aware about this situation? I cancelled July 6th consulate appointment because my medical test results are due for sputum test. I'm still waiting for medical results. In the meantime I got email from US Delhi embassy for notice of revocation of B1/B2 non-immigrant visa. Please see the following email. However, my immigrant visa is still pending. Does anyone know whom should I notify or call about this situation?

I am trying to book an IR5 interview appointment for my mom (DQ Mar 2, 2021). Her original appointment (July 1) was cancelled since she needed to get sputum tests done.

I have been checking the CGI portal each day since last week but it shows no consular interview slots available.The steps I take on CGI portal are: Schedule appointment ->Immigrant Visa -> Class B medical -> IR5 -> Schedule OFC (Biometrics) -> Schedule Consular appointment

No matter which appointment date I select for OFC (Biometrics), I keep getting the same message at the Consular appointment step -
There are currently no appointments available. Please press the Back button and choose a new OFC appointment Date.

Are these the correct steps for booking an appointment after sputum test? If yes, how do I get any open slots for consular interview? Is there a day of the week or time of day when open slots are posted? Please advise. I am quite worried.

Seems like a big grey area. My Mom is also waitin on the results of her Sputum Test and will be in the same situation after that. Pleasete do keep us posted if you are able to move it forward or any information that you get and could share. This is going to be really helpful for a lot of folks.

I have no idea about the after effects of the sputum test. I did mention that once you miss your scheduled interview then finding a new slot is very difficult and the consulate will not help.
About the cancellation of the B1/B2 visa, I can say that this is as per rules. Since you have shown your intent to migrate to USA, the non-immigrant visa is no longer permitted. This will in no way effect the adjudication of the Immigrant VISA. Best wishes for the sputum test coming out negative and I hope that you can soon find a new slot for the interview.

Thanks for your compliments and the blessings. I am a teacher by profession and love to help people. By God’s grace, all travel preparations for the forthcoming trip to USA have been made. Lot of work however, still remains about winding up of the house etc for an extended stay in USA.
I am wondering about this huge gap in issuing the next set of ILs. This gap of over a month may be quite exasperating for the members in waiting. Hoping for some activities in the next two days . Best wishes to all.
