  • Dear AlienKanpur,

Thank you very much for prompt reponse and advice. You along with all other seniors like Geomac,
Sapnaanagol etc have been extremely helpful to the forum. It is really heartening to find that some of you, inspite of being eminent personalities in their own fields and having quite busy schedule, are ever ready to help other members. And still guiding the members even after almost finishing their journey as immigrant applicant, is icing on the cake. The forum is grateful to all such members and I humbly request all new members to follow the same path and help others who are still in the queue as applicants.

    • GeoMac and AlienKanpur what is required at the time of interview? ORIGINAL I-864 and I-864a which were submitted to NVC and got DQed? DQed has all financial info of 2019 and previous years.

Do I need to update I-864 and I-864a with latest financial years like 2020 and 2021 and upload to CEAC website? as well as do my parents need to carry original? If so I need to send them from USA to India. Hence asking.

        Dear shrutipshah
You need to upload tax return transcript and w2 of years 2020 and 2021 in your account on CEAC website and send the same by W***sapp to your parents to be printed and carried along at the interview. I-864 and I-864a uploaded earlier are okay. Originals of Birth certificates and Marriage certificates of both - Petitioner and the Beneficiary are required for verification These are the proof of relationship between daughter/son and parents and husband and wife. Hard copies of all uploaded documents for verification. Actually hard copies of all these documents should be carried along so as to present if and when asked for.
PCC validity is 2 years.God bless.

          Dear AS45,

Thanks for the compliments. It is this thought that we can help people in dilemma, keeps egging us on. GeoMac’s journey is almost over. He is all set in USA but still contributing, is really commendable. sapnaanagol has added a new dimension, because of the sputum test and rescheduling of the interview. GeoMac gave a complete algorithm. Thanks to both of them. There are many more who are sharing their wisdom. This forum has become more like a close knit family.
You said rightly, that this spirit should continue.
By God’s Grace, we will be reaching USA very soon now. Will share my experience after settling down with our daughter’s family. Soon there after I plan to share my real identity with you all. GeoMac can probably do that now.
Best wishes to all in waiting.

            Dear shrutipshah,
Our great friend GeoMac has answered all your queries very nicely. There is really nothing to add. Letter of support once submitted remains valid and is not required to be updated.
            Best wishes for the interview.

              Dear All,

Thank you for your continued support.

Regarding the documents that the parents will need to carry for their interview in Mumbai, in the above post, GeoMac Sir has kindly stated that parents will need to carry the ORIGINALS of my (petitioner's) birth and marriage certificates. Could others also confirm if this was needed ? Because if this is indeed a requirement, then I will need to send these over to my parents in India by postal mail.

The reason I feel this may not be strictly a requirement is because I had read several months ago in some old posts on this forum that such Original documents of the petitioner were not asked for.

In fact, AlienKanpur Sir's post on the previous page also says that originals of petitioner's birth certificate (and I assume even marriage certificate) are not needed:

"The original of the petitioner’s birth certificate is not required. The tax returns etc are also not required if the latest ones have been uploaded. But you must carry all the originals of all the documents including pictures if any, which were submitted either with I 130 or with DS 260."

I presume the originals mentioned here apply to the original documents of the beneficiary (my parents).

Appreciate any further responses on this.

              Thank you !

Hello shrutipshah,My daughter had uploaded the documents as per the lawyer,s recommendations.Financial documents like IRS, W2's etc.As she had moved from one state to another, she had also uploaded change of address etc.My husband had taken IRS as but they never asked anything.

                  Dear IR5user,
GeoMac had pretty much summed up what you could need.
The intimation from the biometric people gives you a list of all the documents that would be needed at the time of Interview.
                  For a Consular Interview
                  • DS 260 confirmation page
                  • Two recent photographs 2x2 inches
                  • Medical Report (No X-ray films or discs)
                  • Police Clearance Certificate from the Regional Passport Office
                  • Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Divorce decree
                  • Affidavit of Support: Forms I-864, I-864A, recent Tax returns, W2s and job letter (if not already submitted to the NVC)
As a precaution one should carry originals of all the documents that were submitted either with the I-130 petition or the DS-260 application. Most likely they may not even look at your birth certificate or the marriage certificate.
In our case on June 10, we had everything but they asked only for the documents mentioned above (for me and my wife). They did not ask for the marriage or birth certificate of the petitioner. All documents mentioned in the last bullet were already uploaded.
                  Best wishes.

                  • I had gone through sputum test in Max Lajpat Nagar 2 months back and finally today I got below email from Mumbai consulate. I have a follow up questions

                    1. I haven't received any final medical reports email after sputum test from Max Lajpat Nagar. Do I need to follow-up with them?
                    2. While scheduling consulate appointment interview in cgifedral website and selecting category CLASS B MEDICAL"-> an then answered "YES" for question - Have you received instructions from US consulate? and then coming up with below question - If I answer Yes, then it gives VAC appointment option and I'm already done with my biometrics

Question - One of U.S. Consulate General Mumbai’s approved panel physician sites (Apollo Chennai, Apollo Surat, Apollo Gandhinagar, Center for Migration Medicine – Hyderabad, Max Mohali, Max New Delhi or Rele Clinic - Mumbai) required you to undergo additional medical testing as part of your examination?

If I answer "No" then there is no option to move forward. Does anyone came across with this situation?

                    Email Text ---

I called hospital facility and they mentioned my reports are ok. Also, mentioned no medical reports are provided to beneficiary/petitioner. All the reports goes to directly to consulate. I need to carry paperwork provided to me when first time I visited to Max hospital for checkup. Can you please confirm if that's the same case with you or I need to check more details with medical facility

Also, can you please confirm did you file consulate appointment in "Class B Medical" category and how did you reschedule consulate appointment?

                            Dear kla1289
I have not experienced the situation of SPUTUM testing, but if I were in your place I would reply YES to the question -
"One of U.S. Consulate General Mumbai’s approved panel physician sites (Apollo Chennai, Apollo Surat, Apollo Gandhinagar, Center for Migration Medicine – Hyderabad, Max Mohali, Max New Delhi or Rele Clinic - Mumbai) required you to undergo additional medical testing as part of your examination?"
because it is a fact that you required to undergo additional medical testing as part of your examination viz SPUTUM TEST.
Answer YES to that question and see what happens next.
Further, you are fortunate that the US Consulate has given you clear instructions with a last date i.e. 27th October 2022, before which you have to re-schedule your interview date, complete the rest of the formalities, appear in the interview and finally enter the USA. (Please remember 27th October 2022) Now dear please do it without wasting time. We are only forum friends and share our experiences only, in order to be helpful. US consulate is the Authority and they have given you clear instructions, why wait for other sources?

                              Dear Shanaya
Now that the case is DQed, you need not worry. They will not ask any more documents. However Tax Returns and W2 of 2020 and 2021 should be uploaded and hard copies to be sent to the beneficiaries to carry along at the Interview.
In many posts I wrote that hard copies of all uploaded documents and original Birth and Marriage certificates of Petitioner and Beneficiaries should be carried along for the interview. Not that all of the documents will be checked, but you never know which one will be asked. In my case they asked my birth certificate and that of my daughter and my wife's death certificate only, though I had all the hard copies with me.
