  • Dear forum members,
My mom's interview was on Aug 22nd. We stayed at the Trident. Ours was an early appt at 7.30am. They let only my Mom in. She carried all the originals and the latest financials with her. She was given a token number. Then she waited till her token number was displayed. at this stage they asked for few documents. She had an interpreter. They asked for the DS 260 with the seal of biometrics done, Police clearance certificate , 2 passport size photos and original passport. Once these were verified she was asked to wait again. Her token number was displayed again and she went to the window. Here she was asked questions by US consulate officer which was translated by the interpreter. They were very kind and courteous. The questions was mainly about the petitioner and family. Then the officer said the visa is approved and to expect the passport with the visa packet in about a week. the whole process was about 2hours long.
I would like to personally extend my thanks to all the members who have constantly been helpful to clear our doubts. Wish all the members a smooth process.

    • Hello, my parents have biometric appointment at VAC Delhi. Do they allow mobile phone inside? This site claims that they are allowed if switched off - https://visa.vfsglobal.com/ind/en/sw...re/New%20Delhi

we have a form, which will be signed by me and a pdf file will be sent to the Bank or to an officer in authority at my work place. Then I will have a video call. The officer will verify the signature and the form will be submitted. This is the first time that I have handle this situation. Let us see how things will shape up.
My Airtel number regularly receives messages, even in USA. I have a postpaid connection. I do not know the tariff.
We will share our experience in this matter during November. Best wishes
My father spoke to SBI manager, he got a form, as of now not sure what kind of form is that. I will see it soon. I think it might be the same form you mentioned earlier. I will inform you all. Hope it will work.

The soft copy of the duly signed form will be sent to the concerned authorities and then a video call (on what’s app, Google meet, ******** messenger etc) will be made. Subsequently the officer will verify the signature and submit the form. I have already spoken with the people responsible for the verification. I hope that this will work out. From the subsequent years I plan to use Aadhar based authentication, for this we will perhaps need a finger print reader and the retina reader.
            Best wishes
            Thanks AlienKanpur.

The pattern of issue of fresh ILs seems to have changed. From three weeks, it seems to be a month now. As per the new extrapolation the next set of ILs should be sent out in this week.
Best wishes to all in waiting.
Hope the next round of IL go up to November 15, 2021.

Hi spDQJUN2021, Congratulations and thanks for sharing the details. How did you arrange for interpreter? Did you email at any specific address to request that before interview? Or, did your Mother mention that when she was inside the Consulate?

                  Dear djx98,
VAC Delhi people are very friendly. No issues with the mobile or any other electronic item. All you need to do is keep the phone on silent mode or better still-switched off. We were in and out in 25 minutes at VAC Delhi.

We requested for the interpreter at time of setting up of appointment for Biometrics. After Biometrics they put a sticker on the back of the passport with the specific language interpreter request.
At the Mumbai consulate they allot an interpreter as your request.
                    Wish you all the best.

                    • Question for those of you who received visa after completing additional medical (sputum) tests - After the consulate interview how long did it take for the online case status on CEAC to change from 'Refused' to 'Issued'?

Since since my mom needed to undergo additional medical (sputum) test, her initial interview appointment for June 1 was cancelled. The next day the CEAC case status changed to 'Refused'. After clearing the sputum tests, she attended the consulate interview on Aug 23 and was told that her visa is approved and they kept her passport. However the online status still shows 'Refused'. Does anyone know how long will it take for the status to change?

                            • HI, when I check the status of the delivery of the passport. It shows that it is still with US embassy/consulate, hence the doubt if I have to do anything else further. I had selected premium delivery of passport. Please do clear the confusion. Thank you in advance!!

                              • Hi everyone, does the embassy allow a close family member to go inside with the person being interviewed? My mother does not know how to read/speak english and I am afraid that she will not understand the process if she is inside by herself and be able to guide her self to the immigration desk. I did request for interperter but I think they will only be help at the immigration offers desk.
