It’s linked to her adhaar card and she has 2 Adhaar cards. She accidentally used the adhaar card with the wrong birth date on it. Question is, how can we get this fixed? Will this be a factor during the interview?
    thank you
    Dear abhishekhawat,
This is quite a strange situation. The people at the medical examination centre check your data from the passport. Also, I wonder how you got your access to the vaccination records. This data is uploaded. At the time of the interview the consulate people will take the two sheet medical information sheet. Anyways you should carry both the Aadhar cards. In case they question you about the discrepancy, you can provide the explanation. I wonder, you have ample time to call the medical centre and ask them to make corrections. Best wishes.

    • Dear All,

My parents are having their interview at the Mumbai Consulate this week.

      Quick question:

      1. Would they be allowed to carry mobile phones, wallets, etc etc inside ? At least one mobile phone ? Are there any "deposit boxes" at the consulate ?Or should they just leave all such stuff at hotel ?

      2. Any sort of tips to be aware of ? Anything that comes to your mind that may be useful for them --- where exactly to report, anything special/specific to do before/during/after the interview ?

Their interview time is 9:00 am.

      Thanks a lot.

Hi Geomac, I am the petitioner for my mother. We are not yet at the NVC step, but trying to get documents ready in advance as it will be difficult for my elderly mother (widow) to get things ready in short time. That is why I asked if she should prepare self-affidavits for her birth and marriage in addition to submitting affidavits from relatives/other supporting documents. Thanks.

        • Hello All, Thank you to this lovely community for answering all the questions. My parents had successful interview yesterday. I am writing here the details which might help someone in this forum because I think we have gone through every scenario being asked here.

I filed in 2019, got an RFE about my Birth certificate, submitted papers etc.
In Oct 2020, the process of submitting all the documents got completed
In Jan 2021, the status changed to DQ
My parents interview was scheduled on 13th May 2022
When they went for Medical, my mom was asked for additional Sputum test
They went ahead with their fingerprinting anyways
I sent an email to rescheduled my dad's interview as well because they wanted to go together
During these 2 years me and my spouse changed jobs, address as well.
We filed a form for change of address but didn't do anything for job change. We did not upload new 864 rather gave them old and new 864 for interview
Once we got sputum test results, we got an email from US embassy to schedule an interview and that was addressed to my mom only since she got sputum test only
We went ahead and scheduled Finger printing and consular appointment on CGI website but thought that since they have already done fingerprinting so they can skip that but since they didn't go for fingerprinting, their consular appointment got cancelled automatically that's how CGI website works.
Tried emails/calls to check if they need fingerprinting again but was not helpful, they have standrad replies.

We scheduled both the interviews again on CGI website and when scheduling we had to pick Class B applicants although my dad didn't have test, we selected same for both as we didn't want to separate them

Went for fingerprinting, they knew it has been done but my parents told them that they have been asked to get it done again so they stamped a new DS 260 and put a new stamp on passport
Went for interview, they checked all the papers and asked basic questions like names of grand children's, ages and when did your daughter/son went to US and for what purpose
          Waiting for passport now

          My questions for this community
What are the insurance options for 76 year old, they need it as soon as they land
How do we pay 220 fee? We got the paper from embassy but don't know the DOS number, will it come with passport?

Please feel free to any questions, happy to help.

            Dear IR5user,
They should carry only one mobile phone and no other electronic items, including smart watches. There is a deposit box outside and they charge Rs. 50 for each item that will be deposited. A token will be given and details noted in a register. Be at the consulate gate by 8.30 and most likely they will be taken inside. Carry all the originals of all documents that were submitted either with I-130 or DS-260. Best wishes for a successful adjudication.

              Dear rmalik,
Heartiest Congratulations. You really went through a lot of hassles. In the process this forum must have benefitted quite a bit. In the end what matters is a successful adjudication of the immigrant visa.
The $220 fee is to be paid before leaving India. I would say that you wait for the passports to arrive. In case you wish to pay the fee now, you have the link on the paper that would have been given to your parents. What you require the BMB number and the A number given at the end of the IL. Do wait, I suggest.
We took a usual travel insurance for a period of two months. We now have the SSN and we are exploring the options.
Best wishes for your parents trip to USA.

                  Dear rmalik,
At this age we all have some pre-existing conditions. So we are also looking for a proper coverage. Do share if you find a good coverage. Best wishes.

As dear GeoMac predicted, & dear AlienKanpur confident, I truly sailed through the interview very smoothly. Thank you for all your good wishes
I will write a detailed post on 6th of September as I am now at another place doing my last batch of IVF patients
Wishing all of you all the best in all your future endeavors!
                    Thank you ????????
congratulations, waiting for your final update on steps and things to do.

Update for forum - my mom's sputum results were negative. We didn't get any information from Max Delhi. When called they verified that her results are negative and reports were sent to US Consulate in Mumbai on August 28. So using the steps listed and guidance provided by sapnaanagol i scheduled her fingerprint (delhi - although she has done it once already) and Consulate interview.

She also got a call from someone from Mumbai (stating they are calling from Visa office) and verified that they have her medical results , her interview date and urged her to keep her appointment.

Is this normal to get a direct phone call from mumbai?

                    • rmalik and tooolong, did you guys wait to get email or text from the consulate to give instruction on scheduling? or did you decide to book once you found out that the results were negative over the phone?

I am asking because, we have also verified that the results are negative over the phone from Rele Clinic, but wanted to know if i should wait for email or text from consulate to re-schedule or should i just go ahead with scheduling?

I want to see if someone can give their opinion on this matter, as I am trying to save days because i dont know when I am going to hear from consulate.

                      • Question for folks who have gone through consulate visa interview post sputum test -

My mom's original interview appointment for June 1 was cancelled due to sputum tests and her CEAC status changed to refused. My dad completed his interview on June 1 and got the passport with visa. After that, my mom cleared the sputum test and had her consulate interview on Aug 23. The consulate officer Approved the visa and kept the passport. However the case status on CEAC still shows 'refused' and the passport is still with the embassy. Her medical report expires on Oct 25 and hence the visa will be valid only till Oct 25. I sent an enquiry email to embassy support team and they told me that the case is in process and I just need to wait.

Anyone knows how long I should expect to wait for processing and is there a way to expedite this?

                        • Dear all members, I have created a USCIS account for both my parents, then I filled the Change of Address request. Right after I received an auto generated email saying that

                          Address change request successfully submitted:
Updated Address To: (my new address)
                          Service Request: ***********
                          Expect a reply by:September 20, 2022

Is this usual response? What would be the reply for? Anyone has experience with similar, please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I was keeping an eye on Max health portal and as soon as I saw results available, I called max and they said they have sent the results. Then I waited for few days for an email from USCIS and also called USCIS couple of times if they have received it. I got an email within 10 days of them sending report. Sputum test people are asked to schedule interview under Class B so you should be fine if you schedule it and keep checking eventually you will get an email. If something different is asked, you can go to cgi portal and change it. Hope this helps.
