Is Mumbai consulate scheduling interviews for IR5 (Parent of a U.S. citizen)

Is there a way to track this courier they will send to home address ? Do they (Mumbai Consulate) provide some online tracking number, etc.. ?

You will get a mail from DHL that the passport has been dispatched from Consulate.
Then after or 2 days you will again get a mail that it has reached to your place.
My husband received these emails by DHL.

I wanted to know after how many months can we return to India,as we do not have enough time to wrap up everything.
Is it compulsory to stay at USA for 6 months?

A friend of mine returned to India with in two months to resign from job and settle his finances etc. After a month and half he came back to the US.
Arrival of Green Card takes 45 to 90 days (mine took 46 days). After that you can travel to any country and return back to the US safely. Green Card assures your safe re-entry.

I don't know why they didn't check the date at the hospistal. But anyways, I spoke to the embassy and they said it is ok to bring the same report without having to correct the date. I will still have my mother carry the both Aadhar cards.

The consulate will send an e-mail with the tracking number and perhaps the Courier people will send an SMS to pick up the passport. In our case we received the mail and the SMS around the same time. Next day we went to pick up the passports after paying ₹650 each. Best wishes.

My understanding of the rule is that one cannot be out of USA for more than 180 days in a calendar year(as discussed with our attorney). We entered USA on August 17, and we plan to return in January 23, and then re-enter in May 23, then stay on for about 190 days.

Hello - I have applied for my parents together on the same application. However I received an email on 30-Aug indicating that my father has an interview on 17-Oct but no indication for my Mother who was DQ 3 months prior to my father. Question is: Has anyone experienced this and were you able to reschedule interview to get both parents on the same date? If so, what was the process like?


Mom: Documentarily qualified on 11-Jan-2022. Awaiting Interview letter

Father: Documentarily qualified on 05-Apr-2022. Interview scheduled 17-Oct
