    Dear PostDQwait and @Shanaya,
as GeoMac has pointed out, something must be done. No harm in writing to them. But the response may take three to four weeks. One can find the response timelines on the NVC website. But, to my understanding the response will be a very routine one.
I am also waiting for a response from the USCIS. A request was submitted more than 10 days ago. My Permanent Resident card and that of my wife were sent for being produced on the same date, September 18. I received my card on September 24. The status of my wife continues to be Card being produced. I have no,option, but wait till 90 days elapse. NVC or USCIS they work on their own pace and schedule. Just wait. Things will happen. Wait time was like one year from the DQ date. So let us keep our fingers crossed and wait patiently. No harm in submitting an appeal. Best wishes

I am sure that they would have taken the biometrics appointment. Once the appointment is taken a mail comes from the VAC centre about the documents that one needs to carry. The documents mentioned are the most important ones. Besides this, they need to carry all the originals of the documents that may have been submitted with I130 or DS260. There is no need to carry I864 as this is already uploaded. You may send soft copies just as a precaution. Best wishes.
Thank you so much. Yes, VAC/OFC appt taken and email received.

      As per E-MAIL,
      For a Consular Interview
      DS 260 confirmation page
      Two recent photographs 2x2 inches
Medical Report (No X-ray films or discs)
Police Clearance Certificate from the Regional Passport Office
Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Divorce decree -> I assume this is for my parents and NOT mine. Please clarify.

Affidavit of Support: Forms I-864, I-864A, recent Tax returns, W2s and job letter (if not already submitted to the NVC) -> I am confused with this. As, all of this already uploaded a few months ago, I assume I NEED NOT send anything. Please clarify.

Also, Anything related to Sponsor or Joint Sponsor, Do I need to send to my parents for interview.

      Thanks once again.

      • Dear Geomac and Alienkanpur,
Thank you so much for the quick response. Will wait for the next week to see if any IL s are being dispatched for Oct, Nov & Dec 2021. Then decide to send a letter to NVC.. You guys are great hope for people waiting in the queue.

        • Hello folks,
My mother's visa got approved today. Thank you for all the help from this forum in answering questions!

We are planning to travel in two weeks' time. I wanted to check how do folks manage medical insurance? Do they take travel insurance? Can one get the insurance from the exchange or have to wait for SSN? I hear that it is taking quite a bit of time for them to give SSN even after arrival in US. My mother does have some medical needs so exploring the options.

            Dear trader01,
you are right, most documents pertain to the beneficiary. Affidavits of support are not required in general in case they have been uploaded. W2 etc can also be uploaded. But to be on the safe side one should carry the printouts. Send soft copies to your parents. They can get the printouts. Marriage certificate etc. are for the beneficiary. Best wishes

              Dear maneeshsah,
Heartiest congratulations for the approval of the immigrant visa for your mom. You can take a travel insurance for two months, preferably from some agency in USA. Getting insurance as an immigrant takes a while.
Pay the $220 fee before leaving India. SSN will generally arrive within ten days after entering USA. Then you will have to dig out the insurance from the marketplace. I have been here in USA for almost 50 days and still exploring the insurance.
Best wishes for the travel to USA.

Original Birth certificate and marriage certificates of the petitioner should be carried along at the interview for verification as you have uploaded the images of that at i130 as well as DS260.

                • Dear All

My wife and I have entered USA on October 6 after getting our IR5 visa on September 26. We landed at Los Angeles(LAX) airport. The officer at the counter asked us " Are you new immigrants"? To which we said "yes". Then he called someone on spaker phone to verify whether our names were on record in the particular flight. The other side promptly confirmed. After that, he recited the address near San Francisco at which we would receive our SSN and Green Card and asked us to confirm. Then after face scan on Camera, he stamped passports and informed that we could use that entry stamp till we receive green card. That was all. No paper was asked to be shown. The whole process took about five minutes. Best wishes to all who are about to enter USA.

                        • Hello All,
                          • I just few quick questions about our upcoming VAC appointment for biometrics at Chennai. We are planning to take following documents, do we need to take any other documents for this biometrics appointment?
                            • A valid passport
                            • US Consular visa interview appointment letter
                            • VAC appointment letter
                            • DS 260 confirmation page
                          • Do we need to pay any fee at the time of VAC appointment (for premium delivery of passport etc.). There was no prompt or option to pay at the time of booking the VAC appointment hence asking this question.
                          Thanks.

At immigration, we stood in the queue meant for US citizens and Green Card Holders. No form was needed to be filled. We just handed over our passports and that was it all. Best wishes.

                              Dear saba22,
When you take the VAC appointment, an automated email is sent. Email clearly indicates the documents needed. You have rightly listed them. Do take two photos. These will be returned back to you.
No fee is required to be paid at the VAC. While taking your VAC appointment, you must have opted for the passport pick up or passport delivery. You are required to pay Rs. 650 per passport. The prompt for the payment is automatically generated. I am not sure what happened in your case. Maybe our senior most member GeoMac may be able to add something. Best wishes.

                              • Hi Guys

From the shared Google sheet, it seems like some folks are getting IL in months and others are waiting for more than a year. Any insights into how NVC is going about the interview appointments?

                                Thanks
