      Dear abhishekhawat,
please go through the government market place of your state. I operated through the Minnesota Govt market place. Filled up a few online forms, they suggested either Blue Plus or Ucare. The premium will be set up according to the annual income in India. Things may have variations between the states. Best wishes.

You, did not inform the forum about what happened in your Dad’s case. What kind of waiver is awaited.

          • Apparently, the consulates in India are now prioritizing appointments for H1 visas -
"In response to high demand for employment-based visas, the U.S. Mission to India recently released over 100,000 appointments for H&L workers and their families. Thousands of applicants have already booked their appointments and the wait time for both interview waiver and first-time appointments has been cut in half throughout Mission India. This bulk appointment opening reflects our ongoing commitment to H&L workers. In fact, in the first nine months of 2022, the U.S. Mission to India had already processed over 160,000 H&L visas and we will continue to prioritize H&L workers for visa appointments as resources allow."

This could delay IR5 for quite some time and might explain why the dates have stalled. Very frustrating!!

Very disappointing for IR5 members who are waiting for visa interview. Specially for those whose DQ are between September 2021- March 2022.

I-601 waiver waiver of grounds of inadmissibility.

                    • It is a depressing long wait for the IR5, who just want to go and be with their children, especially people who have been DQ from September 16 th to March 2022

                        • Change in passport delivery
I have a question. My parents interview is on 27/10 and we have opted for premium delivery of passport at our home address. Due to some unforeseen circumstances my parents will be not in home for two weeks. My question is can we change delivery of passport and collect it from VAC centre New Delhi. If yes how we should do it. I have tried cgifederal site where we booked biometric and unable to do so

                          • Hello All,
I got My US Citizenship last week (Oct 13th, 2022) and planning to apply for Parent's Green Card.
but in my case, the Parent's B2 Visa interview is scheduled for Jan 10th, 2023.
my concern is if I apply for I-130 now will it impact my B2 visa application?
should I apply after I-130 after the B2 Visa interview?

                            TIA..!

                              Dear NihalV,
Heartiest congratulations on getting accepted as a US Citizen. October is already ending, so you should wait until they get their Visitor visa approval. During the interview, they are likely to be queried about their intentions to migrate, because you are now a US citizen. If your parents are applying for the renewal and they have a travel history to US, then, it should be easy. Otherwise, if the Officer at the Consulate smells of an intent to migrate, they can easily refuse the Visitors Visa. Then, your parents will be stuck in India until a successful adjudication of your Immigration Petition. Be very careful about, how to handle the Visitors VISA issue. In no way, the I-130 precede the B2 application. If I were you, I would have the parents come to USA in January and file for Adjustment of Status (I-485). Best wishes.

                                Dear sumanbehl,
I am not sure what will be a correct way of handling this situation. First thing is to contact the VAC people at Delhi and explain the issue. Or else, perhaps at the window 1 at the US Consulate in Mumbai a written request may be submitted. Not sure what will work. Maybe GeoMac or any other forum member might be able to suggest a proper solution. Best wishes. Do update on the forum, for the benefit of others.
