The additional immigration process didn't take more than 10-15 minutes extra. She was the only candidate for green card processing at that time so that may have helped. I will write a new post with all the details and steps I had to go through from initially filing her application to her entering the USA.
We are obviously still waiting on her SSN and actual Green card. I am assuming that they should arrive without any further action on my part - but time will tell.
Thanks to this forum and all the esteemed members who helped me give direction and kept on encouraging me for the positive outcome of her case (I was nervous since her medical test requiring her to go through Sputum test).

My mom received IL for January 25, 2023. The DQ date is January 14, 2022.
Now moving on to the next steps of the process, I had a question and if some members can provide feedback, that is much appreciated. Is there a minimum/maximum duration before which medicals and biometrics need to be done? Appreciate the reply.
Thanks,
AV
You two have similar queries. The medical must be scheduled a minimum of Six days prior to the day of interview (excluded) and Biometrics two days prior to the interview. Some people schedule biometrics at Mumbai so that this and the interview can be handled in a single trip to Mumbai. Medical should preferably be done a little early, because sometimes there are some issues with the chest X-ray and a sputum test has to be done. This holds every thing up. Also please remember that the validity of the temporary immigrant visa is six months from the medical in normal circumstances and three in case of sputum test. Best wishes.

Thank you for all the posts here. These have been really helpful. On Nov 19th, my parents got their interview for Jan 11, 2023. Their DQ date is Dec 2021.
I have booked the VAC appointment which I am assuming is for biometrics. I don’t see any links in the portal for medical. Does one just call the designated hospital to book? Thanks in advance!

I have a question regarding biometrics and medical.
How many days in advance can I complete the medical & biometrics for them?

Heartiest congratulations for your parents getting the IL. Just call the designated hospital and book the slot for medical. You can book a slot sometime in December or even November if you like, but no later than January 4, 2023. Do keep in my mind that the validity of the medical is six months only. Best wishes for a successful adjudication of your petition.

I received the SSN card within 6 working days of me going to the SS office. As I waited for 3 weeks, still did not receive, they processed it.
My advise to all .. plz do not go before 3 weeks( my husband went & they told him to come after 3 weeks were completed, they explained that if the Govt has already issued, then he would have 2 SSN
My Green card is also produced & I will receive it in 2 to 3 days. Received a mail.
Best wishes to all
