veeranj Thank you! Do you know how long it will take to get a re entry permit? Also is there any evidence needed? I am thinking just in case they need.

        Dear ForParents96,
        Please see the following link;

        https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/...uides/B5en.pdf

please see this carefully. All your queries will get answered. I am sure that some documentary evidence may have to be provided for a prolonged stay outside United States. Prolonged means over one year. For a stay lesser than one year there will be no issue. The green card is enough for a reentry.
        best wishes

        • Thank you GeoMAC and AlienKanpur for your replies, very helpful. We will continue with the appointment on Jan 31st for my mom's immigrant visa. Just got the medical test done and all looks good on that front. The hospital said they will send the report directly to the embassy.

I needed help with 2 other items -

My brother who is the sponsor (petitioner) has uploaded the AOS and financial documents in Oct 2021 (W2 and 1099s would be from 2020). Is it required to upload W2s for FY ending 2021? Or do the uploaded documents suffice? We are not comfortable with our mom carrying the physical documents during the interview but ok with uploading them. What would you suggest?

My mother was born in 1948 (As per the website birth certificates before 1970 for India are considered unavailable). https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...try/India.html
Her case is DQ already but do you suggest to carry other birthdate proof during the interview? Like school leaving, 10th Mark list or Aadhar?

Thanks in advance for your help!

            Dear reshmadparikh,
heartiest congratulations for the completion of a hassle free medical examination. The medical reports will be uploaded on the consulate website. The response to the other queries raised by you are as follows:
            1. It would be nice if the W2s and the Tax return can be uploaded on the NVC/CEAC website. Irrespective of the uploading the documents will have to be carried. Hard copies can be requested by the interviewing officer. As a matter of fact she will need to carry the originals of all the documents that have been submitted either with the I-130 petition or the DS-260 application.
            2. Even if the application is already DQ, your mom must carry the originals of all the documents that have been mentioned in the letter sent for the VAC appointment. There is clear cut list mentioned. So she must carry three folders. One for the documents as mentioned in the VAC letter, this includes proofs of DOB. Two for all other documents that may have been submitted with the two applications. The third folder with the financial documents.
best wishes for the forthcoming interview which is generally very routine and friendly.

            • Thanks for your response AlienKanpur. On the travel. State website, its clearly mentioned that AOS and financial documents don't need to be carried during the interview if already submitted on the CEAC website, I believe thats because these are financial documents which are confidential and not necessarily required to be disclosed to the applicant/others during the application process.
Also, we tried uploading the latest tax returns and W2s, but the website says everything is DQed and doesn’t allow us to upload anything. Any other suggestions?
Noted on carrying all other original documents (except birth certificate which is not available for people born before 1970 in India)

                Dear reshmadparikh,
In abscence of birthday certificate, your mom can carry a letter of "no records" from the authority where she was born. Along with that letter, school laving certificate, Aadhar card or an affidavit from an elderly relativeconfirming her birthday. All these documents to see that her case does not remain pending for want of birthday certificate (precautionary measures). Even in abscence of such documents also some people have got visa. About your brother's financial documents of later years, you are right that they should be confidential. I wonder why the online uploading is not allowed. The visa interview takes atleast one year from the DQ date. That means new documents of last year are to be uploaded or carried along to athe interview.

                • Thanks so much GeoMac. I think for India, non availability of birth certificate is needed only after 1970. Before 1970, its simply considered unavailable. I think this should be acceptable given the fact that we hadn't uploaded any unavailability letter on the CEAC civil documents upload webpage and the case has been DQed. My mom has her school leaving certificate and 10th Marticulation certificate which she will carry along.
For most recent financial documents, are you aware of any email address/alternate ways of sending them electronically? I am asking because we aren't comfortable mom carrying them in person and the CEAC page doesn't let us upload anything after DQ. Thanks in advance.

                        Dear Shanaya,
you are good to go. The last two pay stubs are important. You have sent 6, that is even better. In most likely hood most of these documents may not even be looked into. Best wishes for the interviews and wishing a successful adjudication,

The sibling category is called F4. The priority is low and there is a cap on the number of visas. To my knowledge, one may verify, the wait time could be anywhere from 1 to 10 Years.

Thats F4 category with limited number of visas per year.. Once you submit i130 in this category then it takes ~18-20 years..

if you have not changed job, then the latest pay stubs will be enough. At least two latest pay stubs - November, December and may be part of January. To be on the safe side, send the latest appointment offer with a 2023 date. Best wishes
