  • For VAC appointment, i see VISA priority as "interview waiver" .. Is it normal for all when we have received interview letter from Embassy . ?? Just want to make sure , i dont need to worry about.

    • Jee_mo - you are fine with the “interview waiver “ selection. That’s what I did. My parents just successfully completed biometrics on 9/7.

        • Hello folks,
Should we upload the employment verification letter & paystubs (for 6mons) on the NVC site ( https://ceac.state.gov/ ) along with affidavit of support docs for petitioner? or should parents take hard copies of it to the interview?

You don’t need an employment verification letter. Two months of latest paystubs along with the last three years of tax transcripts annd W-2 for those same years are enough! By the time my parents’ interview scheduled, about 1.5 years had passed so they attended the interview with the latest paystubs and the latest tax transcript as well.

              • We are traveling to US this week first time after IR5 stamping. Our son, petitioner has changed his address. He has submitted online Form AR-11 mentioning our AR No for change of address. Is this enough to receive our GC and SS at new address? Thanks...

Same situation here with my parents and that’s all we did too. My parents arrived just last night and the CBP officer at the port of entry had my new address on file and said they would send the green card to that address.

im unsure about the SS card, though. I plan on contacting them and letting them know of the change of address

                  • My mom will be traveling on GC soon. Since there is a delay between when she lands and when a permanent US insurance can be obtained (after SSN#), what is the recommended temporary insurance during the gap period? Most travel insurances are not valid for US Permanent residents.

We bought from insubuy.com for 45 days, hoping we will have our GC/SSN by that time

                      • My parents had their biometric on 25th & interview on 26th at Mumbai consulate. They informed that the interview process was very simple like most of the experiences posted here in the past. They also received their passports 2 days via courier service.
However, the interviewing officer did not give them USCIS Immigrant Fee handout/letter. How can we pay the green card fee of $220?
                        Thanks in advance!!

Thank you. Very helpful as always!!

My parents did not get a sealed envelope either as stated in the letter ( image in post 1862 on page 125). Is that okay?

                              Dear gc2023,
that printed form is a very old one. The procedure of handing over a sealed packed had stopped way back in January 2022. Even I did not get it. All the information is now uploaded and is available to the Immigration officer at the entry point to US. One needs to just proceed to the immigration counter with the passport only. However it is recommended that one carries all the originals that were submitted during the entire green card procedure. best wishes.

                              • My parents had their VAC and medical appointment at Rele Clinic Mumbai on July 20. My mom tested positive and had to go through the sputum testing.
In the meantime, my dad gave his interview on Aug 18 and got his visa.

My mom got her negative results and forms from Rele Clinic on Sept 30th. The results mention that it will be delivered to the US embassy.
What's next? Does the US embassy reschedule visa interview date? Should I be doing anything ?

                                Thanks in advance !
