  • Consular processing for my children

I am permanent resident. I filed I-130s for my two children (7 and 3 years old).
I-130 were approved in 2007, now are current. but, my children are living here in the US since 2007 with me, and my wife who is resident too.
Can we opt for consular processing? and travel to my country for the interview? can they deny their immigrant visas because of the long term stay in the US after their I94 expired?

A lawyer told that children do not accrue illegal permanence and consular proccesing would be the best option, comments please.
