IR5 - CEAC canceled

My mother had her original GC consular interview on Dec 11 2019. She was unable to keep it. I rescheduled it to April 2 2020. Due to covid the embassy cancelled that interview. Now I checked the CEAC website and it says that the petition is canceled because we did not contact the embassy for over a year. I was unaware we have to contact NVC annually to keep the petition alive.

Please let me know what I can do next -
