IR5 - medical exam for my 75yrs old father

Hi Friends

I am trying to get my 75 years old father to US. His GC is approved and I am in the process of getting his interview scheduled at NVC. My father lives in Indore and he will be interviewing in Mumbai. These 2 cities are almost 600kms apart.

I have a question about the medical exam. Based on my understanding we must go to a specific hospital in Mumbai to get the medical exam done. Are we talking about 3 trips to Mumbai? One to take the exam, another to go get the exam results and then the third to take the interview? Please share your experience. I am very concerned that these multiple trips will be physically very exhausting for my aging father.

Hi,
In the recent month people are getting only 2-3 weeks to prepare all the steps for interview, and appointments for biometrics and medical are hard to get I hear. It appears that people are indeed making these trips or staying in Mumbai in hotel for the duration to complete the process. Inconvenient but necessary I suppose.

Please let us know your DQ date, and interview experience. My DQ is June, so coming up and I am concerned about this too. Thanks!
