  • F1 to immigration [already having call letter to attend visa interview]

    Hi,

I am a F1 student from India. I have come to USA this August. My parents and younger sister got their immigrant visa this month. In their interview letter, my name was also included. [My name was not included in the fee bill]. Is it possible for me to change my status to immigrant without going back to india and attending the interview ?

    Please help on this issue.

    Thanks & Regards

It is best that you attend the interview in India itself and finish it off.

Otherwise, you may be able to file adjustment of status in the U.S., but that is a much longer process and if the rules change meanwhile or if the priority date goes back etc, you will have problems.
