221 refusal: proof of domicile: my wife just had her interview and was given a yellow 221 form with "proof of domicile" checked. The officer told her to follow instructions on the form but that she will not have to have another interview.
I (the petitioner) submitted the following to CEAC:
In response to the 221 request for proof of domicile, the USA is my primary residence and has been since 2001. I maintain a strong tie with the USA as it is where I live and where my business is located. I have both a personal and business active bank accounts in separate banks. I consistently pay both personal and business taxes including the one filed this year. I have both a permanent address and a valid driver's license. The ONLY reason I temporarily came back to Egypt is to visit my sick mom and be close to my wife during the pandemic. My business is still active and I do business everyday online. Egypt is not my residence and I intend to return to the States asap, as soon as I am sure both my mom and wife are safe. I have attached the following documents:
- My valid driver's license
- my personal bank account statement
- my business bank account statement
- my combined tax transcripts for the last 3 years including the one filed this year
- My active Company registration of which I am the sole owner.
- Rental agreement in both our names starting February, 2022
I hope this clears up any doubts about where my domicile is and I also hope that my wife's visa is issued expeditiously as we have been apart for so long.
ARE THOSE DOCUMENTS ENOUGH?
