Questions about petitioning for parents
Hi,
New user here..I applied for my parents in India last year (June 2021). I understand that I need to file a separate case for each person and I was allotted two different receipt numbers for each of them.
I was under the impression that when they gets approved, both of them will be approved or none. Yesterday, I got an update from USCIS that one of the case has been approved and the other one is still under processing. IS this normal? since they are married and petitioned on the same day, I was expecting both of them to be either approved or still in the "pending" category.
Did it ever happened to anyone? I am just worried about the fact that 1 is approved is and 1 is still pending. Does that mean they will have to go to the immigration interview separately (that'd be a nightmare btw because of the travel times and cost involved from Amrtisar to Mumbai where biometrics and interview will take place).
Just seeking some advice and previous encounters with such situations.
