Looking at other group and forums my best guess is wait time for interview letter is less than six months. I got DQed on August 25 and hoping to get IL by Feb23. What are your numbers?

Ansh - what other groups are you referring to? Can you share the details of that group?

I am also interested in learning how are you guys managing it specially if you as petitioner is not in India. I, for example, am in US but will need to accompany my dad to consulate as he is old. And I am thinking - (1) how many days of vacation I will need to take (2) Given an interview date, how soon I need to get his medical check up done (3) Do I need to come back to the hospital to fetch the report or they will directly send to the consulate (4) Do you get stamped passport the same day as interview or the mail it you? ..... many questions :-)

Hi, I am also in US but process is very straight forward. I am also planning to accompany with my mother. I did same for her visitor visa to US. Took 1 week time off. Everything was booked before for ex. hotel stay, travel etc. takes two days for the process 1 for VAC appointment and 2nd for interview. you can pickup passport same day have it deliver. Delivery takes a few days. They dont allow anyone inside except applicant. You should book Medical as soon as you get IL. for results pickup I read everyone has different experience. Some got sealed envelop others have been sent to embassy directly. Check with hospital at the time of medical.

Hello , I am in the same boat. I live in US and petitioning for my parents IR5. I was DQ in Aug 2022. I want to be there for the medical and interview as my parents are quite old. For the medical can I chose the centre as Ahmedabad (as we previously lived in Ahmedabad) ? Or we have to go by whatever city is given by the consulate ? My parents are aged and prefer Ahmedabad for the Medical test as we know that city well .

For Medical you can schedule it anywhere but normally people select closest one. I will be also doing in Ahmedabad for my mother.

Do you know how many days I should keep between medical exam and interview date?

10 DAYS is more than enough. similar with VAC and Embassy appointment gap of 1 day is enough between two appointment. What is your DQ date? Mine is AUG25 hopefully next round of IL I will get IL.
