I-130 processing time
Hello to everyone in this forum. I have been reading the posts by it's member & found it very useful with immigration topics. Great Forum with a huge information resource. Wish I had found it earlier. However let me come to the point. I-130 petition for my spouse was received by USCIS on June 17, 2010 & still it is showing the case status at INITIAL REVIEW, which has been longer than usual period to be approved. I read many of the members in this forum have filed later than my date & their I-130 got approved already by USCIS.I don't know if it is usual or there is something wrong with my petition. Can someone advice me in this regard? Is there anything I can do with USCIS to see the real updates of my case or I should wait for longer to hear from them? Although, I am wondering when could it be the right time to apply for naturalization as I am a LPR since Aug, 1996. Your kind response to my queries will be highly appreciated

Taniya,
You should initiate a service request, I think you can do it online, if not by phone, to get your I-130 case moving.
Why have you not naturalized yet? An LPR since 1996? You could have applied long ago, IF OTHERWISE eligible.
Basic naturalization eligibility on the filing date:
Not already a USC (through parents),
Lawful Permanent Residence (not obtained by fraud),
LPR for 5 years,
In U.S. at least half that time, during those 5 years,
Lived in the same state for 3 months,
No long trips outside U.S. over 6 months (usually),
No trips over 1 year outside U.S. (ever, unless employed by U.S. government),
At least 18 years old,
Speak, read and write simple English,
Pass a simple civics test (6 questions), (there are exceptions to the English and civics, but if you wrote your own post here, you wouldn't qualify),
NO major criminal problems or other good moral character problems.
What have you been waiting for?
You can even apply for a fee waiver, if qualified.

I-130 has been approved
Thanks to Bigjoe5 for your reply. Well, I got my LPR status through F4 category, which was filed by my brother. If I am not wrong, I have to stay five years in US before I apply for naturalization/citizenship & I have been here since 1996. So there is still one more year I have to wait for that, right?
Furthermore, my case with uscis has been approved & forwarded to NVC, wherein I have got a case number on Dec 02, 2010. Now I am just wondering how long will it take to complete my case with NVC & Consular office? Do you have any idea for this processing period?
My case number started with DHK............., means Dhaka consular office. Hope it won't take long in Dhaka once the NVC approved my case.
