Hi,
I have a question regarding my US immigration. My father sponsored me in 2007 or 2008 under F2B visa category. My father was a permanent resident at that time. I got married in 2010 but I did not update my marital status with the NVC immigration office. They sent me letters asking me to submit documents around 2012 or 2013 but I did not reply as we had planned something different. My father became a citizen in 2013. I immigrated to Canada in 2018. Now I want to know about my US case status. So can anyone kindly advise me as to what should I do and what would be the next step.
I tried to call the USCIS contact center but could not connect to an agent. They ask for a receipt. I only have my case number with me.
So can my category be changed from F2B to F3? if yes will I retain my priority date?
If my category cannot be changed then what would be the next step?
Is my file closed now? If yes what should I do then?
How can I contact the US immigration office?
Do I have to contact a lawyer?
