  • Applying for Green Card Once Married

    Hello,

I was hoping for some help with immigration information. I am a US citizen, and my fiance, who I have been dating for the past 2+ years and are planning to get married november in Ireland where he is from. He is here with work on an L1 visa, that he is trying to renew through work that expires in May. We are wondering what the best thing to do is right now. If we have a civil ceremony here in the US could he apply for a green card, which is great, will he be able to leave the country while we are waiting for it to go through because we will be taking a few trips to Ireland to plan the wedding.

I appreciate any help you could give right now

    Thanks

If you get married in the U.S., you can apply for his green card right away.

Once he has advance parole, he can travel back and forth.
