i am a usc and filing for my 17yo son he was ewi minor so was sent for consular process. we went to the interview in dec 2010. they gave me a blue sheet and schedule us to return in 2 months requesting that i buy insurance for him before he can travel back to the US due to his medical report showing a history of asthma.what kind of insurance policy can i buy for him? most major insurance companies dont do child only policies and i cannot add him to mine because he does not live in the us.HELP!

You can look at the insurance plans at https://www.insubuy.com/new-immigrant-insurance/ that he would be eligible for, but none of them would cover any of the pre-existing conditions he already has.

he has never been treated for asthma since he was around 2 years old. he checked yes' on the medical form and thats why they are requesting coverage. and he was living in the US with me for 10 years and was previously covered on my blue cross policy, but when he went back to our country for consular process I did not renew the policy with him on it. In my eyes he has grown out of the ashtma issue since hes almost 18 and has never had any asthma attack or breathing issue since he was a toddler. our follow up interview is in 3 weeks and i dont know what to do.
