CP Problem. Need advice urgenly

Dear All,

This is my first post on any forum and I need the Gurus advice urgently. Below are my case facts:
PD: May 22, 2006 EB2 India; Filed I485 in July 2007; Transferred back to India office in April 2009; Attorey in US filed I824 requesting AOS to CP in Jan 2010 which is still pending; Changed employer in April 2010 but the old employer is willing to take me back after getting my GC.

My questions are following:

Does changing the employer is a problem in getting GC or GC is for future employment?
What if my PD gets current but I824 is not approved. Can I ask my attorney to file AC-140 with New Delhi consulate directly instead of waiting for I824 approval and then case going to NVC And NVC sending me packet 3/4 and the PD retrogresses meanwhile?

Thanks for your response Sir. I did read on some forums that one can file AC-140 directly with New Delhi embassy alongwith I824 receipt without waiting for its approval if the PD is about to be current. In my case, it is a week away.The consulate then directly sends Packet 3/4. This saves 4-5 months owing to file moving to NVC and then it sending Packet 3/4.
This is what I wanted to confirm.
