Priority date

Hello,

I petitioned my husband and we have only received the notice of action stating that they're reviewing our petition. For many months, I would check status on line and it would say they received the petition 11/03/10 and now they changed it to 11/01/10. Can someone tell me what this means? Also, that notice is the only thing I have recieved, should I have received something else by now? Your help is appreciated.
