  • Applying for I-130 for mother in New Delhi (DCF)

    Hi,

I am a US citizen currently residing in Bangalore for the last 2 years. I plan to apply for I-130 for my mother (my father is no more) at the US embassy in New delhi. I had a few questions that I was hoping someone would be able to clarify:

    1. Does my mother need to appear with me to file the petition? (the website says that the beneficiary need appear only in spousal cases, but just want be sure).

    2. For proof of residence in India, the website says that FRRO certificate is required. Since I am OCI, I do not have the FRRO registration. Is it enough to show tax returns filed, my husband's employment here, and some utility bills? I can also show my passport with the entry stamp into India dated 2 years ago.

    3. Under documents required, the website states that marriage certificate of the beneficiary is required. My mother does not have a marriage certificate from back then, but there is an affidavit by her father soon after their marriage stating her date of birth and marriage, would this suffice?

Thanks in advance for your help!!
