Hi everybody,My husband who is a permanent resident of US has applied for my I-130 in July 2011 and I am an Indian citizen. Our service center is vermont due to which we are still waiting for our approval of I-130 application. Ideally we were informed by USCIS that we should receive our approval in september 2012 which means it will take a year and 2 months but going by the visa bulletin it seems that they are still processing february 2011. That means we are not gonna receive our approval in september this year. I want to know how long it might take for USCIS to approve our application and also since my husband is a green card holder how long will take for the NVC to allot us a visa number and schedule us an interview date. I am sure even NVC will take its own sweet time but i am desperate to know how long so that we can figure out some other options if required or at least do something about it.
Also can anyone please advice any other option available. Can I apply for a visitor visa and go see my husband for a few months till I get my visa, is it advisable to do so? If there is someone who faced a similar situation can you please share your experience with me and tell me the waiting period.
